Ed,I want to go BUT…I’ve just put in a bid to do some work on the new Brad Pitt film “Fury” and they haven’t set a schedule (or hired me) yet.So I don’t know what my schedule will be.I’ve gotten a couple of thousand miles on her so far and I think she’s up to it. But time will tell.By the way I’ve installed some accessories for the LA freeways..;)

Roy,Thanks,I wouldn’t be trying to weld on the drums…I would be welding up the machined steel hub adapters for the knockoffs and drilling new holes for the 4 on 100 that the Chevette has. That way I would also be able to cut the 57.1mm hubcentric hole that the Chevy needs. The wheels are 15 X 5.5 inch so they match in size. The offset also…[Read more]

Please disregard previous post.I’ve been driving the Dutchess as my daily since Dec.Runs great. I’m still adjusting MPG.I keep telling my self, “Excess horsepower will get you out of more problems than it gets you into.
But now that I’m on the road I need to get my wheels corrected. The assembly book says to not run the stock Chevette 13 inch…[Read more]

Bill,The compressor would have added another $100 or so. So I decided to try the system first and if all was well…then I could get one.I was checking Carlisle out on the maps last night. I would love to go but it’s about as far away as you can get and still stay on the continent. I’m in Los Angeles. The time & $$ make it improbable. 🙁 What…[Read more]

OKAAAY!Update! The dutchess is a smoking hot babe! The new engine runs really strong. (120 HP) This thing is going to eat tires if I don’t watch myself. It will, (accidentally!) get scratch in gears 1-4 I don’t know about 5, by the time I reach 5 I’m already going too fast.Okay bad news….The ass end is dragging, if I’ve just filled up and got…[Read more]

EdOkay…fuel delivery; You need to figure out what pressure your injectors require. Once knowing that there are two ways to control pressure, one the injector rail has a pressure regulator on the end that controls how much fuel is sent back to the tank. Two, the pressure sent to the rail is controlled by a regulator on the pump (like mine). If you…[Read more]

IT LIVES!!!!!!!:DAlthough I’ve been working 60 hrs a week I still had time to rewire the duchess, get a new Chevy computer and get professional help.;)I had three “experts” try to get the “Mega-Squirt” computer to run and all failed. ($800)Then I called Michael Hannanat at custompcmtuning@gmail.com. Mike was cool he came out and looked at the set…[Read more]

Okay..You obviously know this TD better than I. But I got some of it right. It was a pretty one. Is there another reason to build one of these other than reliability? As for my project; I’m still trying to get the computer to work.

Back in the world again. I did get the contract to build a 1/4 scale flight simulator of the F-117 stealth fighter.
The F-117 under construction with the poor neglected TD in the background.
That would be Lt. Uhura in front for the roll out.

I just used the s-10 engine & tranny. I did use the S-10 front brake calpers & plumbing with custom disks to keep the 4 on 100 bolt pattern.

I had to work this weekend but I got the new injectors installed. That did not correct the bad run problem. I’m waiting for more help from the MegaSquirt forum. I hope one of those geniuses there will look at my setup and go: “Oh just turn the……” and all will be well.

I pulled the fuel rail and yes, #4 was not squirting. I put it on the bench and the coil is NFG. So new injector. ($100.00 bucks each at the local parts store) But I found an on-line dealer (Who’s local to me) that has a set of 4 for $98.00. That means between fixing the electrical at the foundry I’ll need to find time to run down and get a…[Read more]

I now have the Megasquirt computer installed and am starting to get it programed.Currently it’s WAY too rich except for #4 that’s getting no gas.
So tomorrow I’m going to pull #4 injector and see if it can be fixed or needs to be replaced. And fix a couple of other glitches that have popped up.But I’m encouraged…she makes noises all by herself.
