The bed is finished!!!!
Nothing like rain and mud slides to get some chores done.
MG branded pickup beds are quite common…NOT!!!
But you can make your own.
I still like the lines.
Now I just have to chase down the oil leak and install new rear shocks and springs.
Maybe it will keep raining.

January 20, 2019 at 2:00 pm #305789Okay Okay…
The box did not come with the MG logo.
I got the embossed MG license plate from Moss Motors cut the MG logo out of it and riveted it to the center of the box.
Sorry for the confusion.

January 13, 2019 at 10:10 pm #305777I’ve been using the Goose as my daily driver to work and found I need more cargo space for tools and gack. I had seen a photo of Moss Motor’s delivery rig and decided to emulate them…
So I’m in the process of making an MG TD pickup.
I got the bed from Speedway Motors, fiberglass. It’s almost a slide-in fit. The filler neck (also on line) makes an EZ fit-up.
still missing the filler hose and paint…as soon as the rains let up…

January 13, 2019 at 9:35 pm #305770Yes. Alpha Romero sport rear end is almost a bolt-in. See my post in “Chevy 2.2L Dutchess” Page 6 for my install.
I’m still having issues posting pictures otherwise I’d put some here. But page 6 has pix.

February 6, 2018 at 8:30 pm #304614My TD is a Dutchess which I have upengined to a Chevy S-10 2.2 L engine with 5 speed trany. (see my build on the ‘my projects’ Forum “Chevy 2.2L Dutchess)
I’m building a TearDrop to tow.
I’ve towed a couple of “Motorcycle-type ” trailers with no problems.

February 6, 2018 at 8:22 pm #304613I’m just trying to get the post picture system to work.
This is a shot of the row of rivets I installed to hold my bonnet together.

April 19, 2017 at 3:47 pm #303494Only problem I’m having is I cannot post more than one picture as I have to have the location copied to the clipboard before I write because if I navigate away from the page to get another pix everything I have written is deleted and I have to start with a clean page.
Fix?

February 8, 2017 at 8:13 pm #302941I’ve got a TDR with a modern 2.2L Chevy engine. I use her as a daily driver here in SoCal so I use the freeways all the time. 70 MPH is more comfortable than a bike but less than an enclosed car. On the other hand get used to getting your picture taken and the waves and honks.
My brother tours all over the world on his Honda Goldwing. (http://www.bobkatsjaunt.com ). I hope to emulate him in my TDR Dutchess pulling a teardrop trailer (I’m too old for a tent).
Welcome aboard.

April 5, 2016 at 12:27 am #267573Just a thought…we could pop up to San Luis Obispo (10 miles from Pismo) and take the foodie tour.
see; http://www.centralcoastfoodtours.com/san-luis-obispo-tour2
Yule could put something together just for us.
It would probably be $80-$100 Just for the tour 😉
Any thoughts? No trees were injured in the making of this message, but some electrons were inconvenienced.
March 29, 2016 at 1:07 am #267565Count me and the Green Goose in. I’ve been jealous reading about the adventures at Carlisle.
Bout’ time we got an event for us wrong-coasters.
The Scottish event at the Queen Mary has an English car ‘show’. I’ve been a couple of times. The Goose always causes trouble. No trees were injured in the making of this message, but some electrons were inconvenienced.
March 6, 2016 at 6:37 pm #267221Mine has always had a muffler and no cat. Now that I’ve converted to a 2.2L Chevy flex-fuel I’ve got a muffler & pipe.

March 6, 2016 at 2:48 am #267218I also felt the space in the rear was a waste so I created a boot. I used the existing hinge and added an electric latch.

March 1, 2016 at 3:21 pm #267365hooking direct to the battery will create a constant drain. you want to connect to the “ignition” side of the ignition switch. that way the gauge will come on with the other instruments and show the voltage in the system.
But when you kill the ignition there won’t be any drain on the battery. No trees were injured in the making of this message, but some electrons were inconvenienced.
February 29, 2016 at 1:41 am #255315Allen,
I have a tilt front end so I brought all my front end electrics to a plug in front of the left front wheel which is where I grounded the whole works. Self taping screw into the frame.
The plug is so I can disconnect the wiring when I pull the front off.No trees were injured in the making of this message, but some electrons were inconvenienced.
February 28, 2016 at 12:37 am #255313Allen,
The ground wire attaches to the mounting plate as in the Lucas socket.
Having non-conductive bodies on out cars we have to run a ground wire from ALL lights and accessories.
On a metal body car just mounting the lamp would have grounded it.
So there are only two wires coming from the socket. The ground wire attaches to the mounting bolt.
It’s hard to give visual information through words but I try…so I hope you understand I’m not trying to talk your eyes off.
it seams I’m posting too much the forum won’t let me post any more in this “Time”.Court Wizard 2016-02-28 00:39:28 No trees were injured in the making of this message, but some electrons were inconvenienced.

February 21, 2016 at 1:59 am #241038The new rearend installed almost as a bolt-in.
The only real modification was moving the trailing link attach points outboard 1.5 inches. The original attach points.
Modifying
The new points:-)
The links fit into the TDr with no modification.
The new rearend in it’s place.
The gas tank back in…
Now I wait for the new driveline.
New wheels are in place.
The five wheels I bought on EBay were Junk.

February 21, 2016 at 12:55 am #261309I took the Chevette shell and pulled it off the shaft. Then made a tube out of steel to hold the shaft.
I moved all the switches to the dash.I’ve been looking for a brass acorn nut to dress up the wheel adapter but it’s still on the ‘to do list’.
