Just a number. I made up an elaborate hoax story about its significance, but it is 100 percent fiction. (and continued here and here). I might buy blank roundels so I can change the number at will.

That car is all kinds of win. I believe that the drivetrain and front suspension are all from the Chevette. There should be an adaptor that makes the hubs work with those VW wheels. I’d love to see more pictures of that one.

Welcome, Ric. I don’t know all about Chevette cpmpatibility bit suspect the drive train of the S10 pickup should light your way. Lots of 60 degree V6s with manual transmissions. I suspect that your existing 4 speed should work.

$15k for a nice MGA is a screamin’ deal. Even $20k is a darn good one these days if the car is done right. MGAs are going up, and a lot faster than T cars.
But yeah. I ain’t getting one of those either, to go with the 2-post lift I ain’t getting. -

The guy who built mine was sketchy with a lot of stuff, but his concrete and tile work have proved out. I’d probably test it but expect it’d pass. I also envision triangulated outriggers off the posts, because I’m paranoid like that. None of it will probably happen ever though on my salary.

You win the garage square-foot sweepstakes. I thought mine was big at 1000 sf.
Love to hear about the 2-post lift. Cost; install cost, issues, headroom. I’m only 9 feet to the ceiling but, man, those things are looking so, so useful. -

fiberglass repair isn’t so bad and yeah, small holes can be filled with 2-part epoxy.
I has Maaco paint over a chrome bumper years ago and the paint lasted 20+ years. Stand it with 100, then 180, then prime it with something that wants to go over chrome or maybe aluminum? Google paint-over-chrome.No way you need new grill slats. -

18-feet of battery cable should allow you to put the battery in the car ahead of you if you want to. Half that should be adequate, but to be sure I’d mock everything up first with a bit of string or clothesline.

Valvoline VR-1 also good. 10-40 will usually do it. 20-50 is OK for some but it’s a might bit heavy.
You want something with too much ZDDP to run in a modern engine with a cat. It’s not really a problem if you don’t get it though, because, unless you’re going with a serious cam and some stiff after market valve springs, regular modern oil will be… -

We did not. No one said anything and I was busy with a lot of things, so I let it slide.
Anyone can do it though. -

Be safe, stay warm, for sure. But everyone remember to get those TDrs out for some snowy action shots for next year’s calendar!

Jeez. for $40 I’d buy a spare.
But I am not at all confident that a pattern for your car would work on mine. You want to share the identity of your source here? -

OK, so, trying too hard generally. But it does look like those might just be Jag-spec wire wheels. The Jag hubs are a lot beefier than the MG/Triumph kind, and those look legit. They’re overkill on that car but tell you something encouraging, perhaps, about the P.O.
