Good job Court Wizard. On your Dutches it appears that the torque tube on the r/end is the original that came with the chevette . Strange , cause my Dutches hasa fabricated piece made by Classic Roadsters in its place . I guess theyhad a change in their set up some time in their production run .I think mine was manufactured in 1988 .…[Read more]

Love and admire the work you have done on the TD but have to agreewith MR. Pink MG . If you took that Photo of the yoke to any ProfessionalMechanic that had been around for a while would tell you that your asking for trouble . The front U/joint being so far away from the Transmission tail shaft and housing bushing could cause a hell of a load on…[Read more]

Looks like a surefire way of preventing the doors from popping open . The way I see it , The latch is trapped between the door panel and the inside door release handle preventing the door from being opened unintentionally . Also , is it just the VW powered TD’s having this problem maybe due to the floor pan flexing (Steel body shell miss…[Read more]

Mel Just took a look at your wheels in the photo gallery. They are different to mine and look good. I have the ones that sit proud of the wheel and look like they were made by the Safeway shopping cart company. Al

Hey Ringo I thought I read somewhere that wires were an option on TD’s in 52 . Craigar’s on a TD. Probably look good on the strip with the back end jacked and a big lump up front. Have fun while the sun still shines Al.

Hey CoffeyD Don’t apologize for sharing your views and opinions as that is what forums and discussions are for. The word Replica in my dictionary states:- copy and or reproduction and you sure did not see any TD’s out of Abingdon with those “cheap and tacky” baskets on the wheels. As soon as I have some spare cash in the bank I’m going to giv…[Read more]

Thanks for the reply LarryI was hoping somebody had been down this road before and perhaps I would not have to resort to butchering a set of chevy blades and arms to fit the TD. May be the only route ?. Who knows ?.

Hi Larry I think I have the exception to the rule as this assembly has been modified to fit the location . The connecting rod between the two pivot posts has been cut and rejoined in a crude fashion (Two small hose clamps holding the connecting rod together) Plus the electrical connector fits perfectly with the chevette wiper switch in the Chevy…[Read more]
