ON my initial drive home with my London Roadster, I went through a thunderstorm in northern California. An hour before I reached my late night destination, the wipers stopped working.
The weather has been fair since then, and they’ve been out of use and out of mind pretty much since then (May). With winter around the corner, I can expect a few sprinkles maybe in January, so I’d like to be prepared.
What do I need to do?

The first thing I would do is check for a blown fuse. On my London Roadster, the fuses are located under the dash on the inside of the firewall to the left of the steering column.
Two things come to mind. Broken round and fuse. Fuse only if the wiper is on its own. If not, and the other system(s) on that fuse work then check the ground wire from the motor. Lastly check the wire from the switch.

When I first got mine only one sorta worked the other nothing. turned out to be just the set screws had either came loose or were never fully tight. She had less than 1800 miles on her in the first 20+ years. I doubt if the first owners ever had her out in rain, very rarely anytime else, I still can’t figure out why. My gain..
Could be the switch too. Or just the spade connections on the switch. Not likely to be the motor itself.
However, if it comes down to it, I’ve got a good VW wiper motor I might be replacing in favor of a fist-size one up on the windshield frame. Probably be after new year before I know if that concept works though.
During the thunderstorm, the wipers slowed down to an eventual stop. If it was a fuse blown, wouldn’t they have stopped suddenly?
