Just wondering how everyone feels about adding piping to the seat upholstery? I have white seat cushions and seat back and am thinking of adding red piping along the outer edge of the seat top and along the edges of the the seat back. That’s provided I can find a red that closely matches the red body. Too much red ya think? Granted I’ll have to take thew uphoplstery to the shop and have them unsew and add in the piping and sew it all up. Anyone have piping in theirs?

Allen, Piping seems to make the job look more tailored and professional.  I think that it also provides a stronger seam and since the piping is usually at an outside corner it provides a wear point.   But, if your seats are already done, why take them apart.  You can always add the piping next year (you’re gonna miss not having to work on your car next winter),

Seats are not done yet. I have the seat covers and everything else I need but I haven’t put them all together. I have time yet. Tomorrow I’ll get the floor pans prepped for installation. I have to drill a hole every 3/4-inch along the inner edges to weld them in. I might get one done tomorrow by nightfall but we’ll see. Depends on how long I have to be at work. Temps in the low to mid 70s until Thursday with rain on Wednesday and I can get quite a bit done in 2 1/2 hours per day.

I always liked piping, it will set off the look ,,and bring a little class to a plain looking interior ., but it will be some work but well worth it ,, many if not most all optional interiors  use piping.   Dan
