    @edsnova

    In case anyone is interested: I just put Bridget’s old engine up for sale on the Samba. $300.

    She’s a good-running, original 1966 F-series 1300, probably with 1500 jugs.
    Case has never been cut or line-bored, according to the guy who put the car together 35 years ago. Engine leaks a little oil but doesn’t burn any. Could be a good run-about engine while you build something up or, if you’re restoring a ’66 Bug to pristine original condition and simply must have the correct (and rare) F-series engine number, this might be the mill for you.

    So I guess this means you’re committed to this Subaru thing, eh? No turning back? 😀

    The engine is sold. It’s going in a ’61 ragtop, owned by a guy named Mike. Hope to have pics in the spring.

    Congrats!
    I hope to have my 1500SP swapped out and sell it at the spring Circle Yer Wagens show locally.  I’ve accumulated enough surplus VW stuff to make it worthwhile to rent a vendor space — if I can get my act together to be prepared for it…
