This is what I am working on. Body needs some compounding and wax. I am also trying to get it wired up as a first step. After the wiring will come the other bits. Runs good but need some TLC.

February 17, 2015 at 9:49 pm #263226Appears to be a Daytona Migi, not a FiberFab.
Looks like it should clean up pretty well. How’s the interior?

Slowly coming back from the ashes...February 17, 2015 at 9:51 pm #263227She looks great. Check out how-to-build-hotrods.com for some advice on how to wire things up. Have fun and remember when working on electric that it only hurts until you stop breathing.
February 17, 2015 at 10:06 pm #263228the interior is very good. i hope to have it on the road soon. Yes it is a Daytona not a FF.

February 18, 2015 at 4:08 am #263229Dean, check your Private Messages and call me.
Looks just like mine when I first got her.
Also looks to sit a bit low in the rear – check my posts for how I fixed.
I’ve made a LOT of changes (removed torsion leaves, installed disc brakes, made emergency brake handle accessible, installed British spoked wire knock off wheels, New gas tank, converted windshield to fold down, new clutch, rebuilt eng to 1600cc with Holley Bugspray 2bbl carb etc etc) to my MIGI and some of my other posts may be of interest.February 18, 2015 at 11:39 am #263230Looks like a good start! For wiring I would jump over to thesamba.com and download one of the later (maybe 70 or so) wiring diagrams to help run everything as it should be a very similar layout. I even bought a used never installed wiring loom for VW and modified it to fit. It works well but I need to clean up under the dash at some point. It’s a bit of a mess under there!
Best of luck with the build and keep us updated!February 18, 2015 at 12:09 pm #263231Looks like a good start – nicer than what I started with – looking forward to driving with you this Spring – follow me up to Carlisle in May.
My wiring might be the same if you want to check it out as soon as it gets warmer or stop by my garage.DaleFebruary 18, 2015 at 12:14 pm #263232Thanks Guys! Yeah Roy, That emergency brake will need some help. I would also like to make the windshield fold-able and will have some wires on it one day. I will end up doing some mods but for the time being getting it wired and on the road are the first priority. I am looking forward to reading your posts and meeting some of you guys at the “local” (not sure how far I will go!!) events! 🙂
