    I have a old kit based on a chevette.  The shocks that were on it were Delco 220253-18. I need new one s but when I look up 85 Chevette shocks using that number the auto stores says it not the right ones. Did the previous owner just put on what he had  or are they the right ones to purchase? Can anyone help me?

    There are currently no listings for the front shocks for the 85 Chevette. The builder probably found a number that was close or was necessary to fit the build.
    I can’t get the link to post, so just Google “Monroe shock size chart“. The mounting styles are at the end of the chart. Pick the mounts and then find the size you need, compressed and extended.

    Are your shocks mounted just aft of the A arms?

    1986 British Coach Works Type 52 (Sammy)
    Chevy 2.8 V6, 5 speed
