I have a set of headlight grille’s that I can’t use. Not legal in NY. If you haven’t got any yet I have them. I beleive they are the original ones that London Roadster used.

My Roadster is on the road and I love driving it. It is 50 state legal and gets a safety inspection at any local inspection station. It has a metal crafters chassis with the coil over. It is weather tight. A perfect top and side windows, also have a taunea cover. It was converted to a 12V system. Been trying to post a picture in the gallery but I…[Read more]

Hi Dick, Welcome to the forum. I too have owned a London Roadster since 1994. My car is also yellow with a brown interior. The top was brown but it ripped and I replaced it with a tan one. Is your’s on the VW pan or is it one of the custom chassis models using the coil over suspension ?

Welcome aboard.
We have manuals available for several manufactures, and for both VW and front engine replicas.
But I have not seen any London Roadster manuals.
These cars have a lot in common, regardless of manufacturer, so click the Download Manuals link in the left side bar and take a look at what we do have. Some of those may help you. -

Thanks Pink. I found one @ CIP1.com and Mid America Motorworks. Their both just over $100. I could get one of eBay but I prefer new.

I think the tank you’d need is 1960-67 Beetle/Ghia…but I’m not sure. These tanks have an integral filler neck/gas cap. You have to open the hood to fuel up.
The ’68 up tanks use a body mounted filler door and neck.

I don’t know the manufacturer of my seats, but they are early compact car. They are old enough that they have never had a headrest. I’m guessing that they might be early Pinto. I also don’t have the seat box base, they set right on the floor. Quite comfortable, have taken several 100-200 mile trips without butt pain. They sit as far back as t…[Read more]

Mark Hendrickson replied to the topic MP Lafer: Fuel additive thinning oil? in the forum MP Lafer 14 years, 11 months ago
Old gasoline is just that…old gasoline. All the fuel additives in the world won’t bring it back to life. You should have drained it, flushed the tank and started with fresh fuel. If the carb/pump/filter were replaced, they all just got contaminated with the bad gas because the tank was not drained and flushed.
Also, it may just be a stuck…[Read more] -

Wow! Thank you guys! Amazing responses and I now know a heck of a lot more about my problem.
Ed, my mechanic is just a general mechanic in Miami. He changed the parts I supplied for him and manually adjusted the carb.
I will look for a VW bug mechanice in Miami. If you know of anyone, please let me know.
Thanks again for your valuable he…[Read more] -

Keep me informed, I’d still like to do it, but maybe a winter project? My car is basically a copy of the 53, so the wiper motor would be in the center, not on the right. I suppose that Moss is still the choice for the linkages etc.
