I hope no proctologists are reading this. They’ll be telling us to slather Preparation-H all over our but cheeks before a long drive in our TD’s.
We are going to have to start rating members car’s “butt-factor” on a scale of 1-10, i.e.: 65 hp/80 ft lbs/08 bf

The realtor told me that the house is required…maybe I could rent it out? hmmmmm?
Paul, you know me too well…loft, bedroom, mini-kitchen, shower/toilet…what more could a car-phreaque want?
Looks like it’ll be just myself and Wiggles the Cocker Spaniel when we move. Tyler wants no part of “the middle of nowhere”. I told the dog that we’d move…[Read more] -

I’d mock it up first with a homemade pine box before trying it on the kit fiberglass

I think I finally threw it away about a year ago, which is very rare for me. Normally I keep stuff until the stuff takes over

However, I will check this weekend behind the garage where it had been hanging around. Maybe it’s still there and I only thought I had thrown it away. I’ll get back to you. -

one. -

Mark,
What do you need the house for? Put a loft in the garage, bed, mini-kitchen and you’re good to go. -
newkitman replied to the topic Seat Cushions in the forum VW Based Kits 14 years, 11 months ago
What if…Take a stock VW seat cusion base with the springs etc., mount it to the TD seat wood, and cut the seat box down so the cushion is at the correct height in relation to the seat back. Hmm… something to ponder methinks.

Hope you get that, Mark. Also, I want to come over. I have a huge garage. Really huge, by my own standards. I guess I could put about 8-10 TDs in it.–It’s probably about half the size you’re describing. If you get what you want, we show it to Karen, and she thinks our garage is “normal!”

Congrats on the new toy Ringo…you can’t beat new tools.

Yeah,.. I have done some painting in the past with a smaller compressor and I knew I would need more “umph” to let me switch to HVLP. I also knew that the “pot” time with the 2 part paints wouldn’t let me play catch up like I used to do with the small compressor and single stage paints.
Plus, when I tried to use my DA sander I swear I hear…[Read more] -

Welcome to the group!
I tried to find matching volt gauge, marked “Dynamo” that I had seen in the past. No luck. I haven’t seen the British type labled guages for sale new, so MG magic may be your best bet. At one time Sacramento Vintage Ford had the sets. Their new catalog doesn’t show them anymore but it might be worth a call at 1-88…[Read more] -

Held Motorsports was the Fiero (P-Body) aftermarket suspension people. I think they are out of business and may have reopened under the above name. -

Also, there used to be a Pontiac Fiero aftermarket front suspension available that used tubular “A” arms and coil over shocks. I forgot the name of the company.
The ’84-’87 Fiero and Chevette’s used the same front suspension parts. The ’88 Fiero (last one) used a different set up. http://www.fierostore.com/

Craig,I have the same tach & expect to replace it this winter. You can see it in my gallery, third photo, I believe.Mine reads to 7,000 rpm and matches the Kph one we both have (83 mph?)The tach is working, though it seems to read high at idle–about 1300 rpm. I’m pretty sure I’m not idling that high. The bezel needs a spot of polish too. If…[Read more]

Welcome to you and your Duchess Craig. As far as the Classis Instruments Tachometer goes, a company in Florida, MG Magic carries the instruments. The tach runs $119. Not sure if it’s what you need because they don’t show any photos or pictures of the gauges. You could give them a call at 954-680-2010. Hopefully they’ll have what you need.
