Surfing was great…for the guys I was watching from my heated truck!
Yes, there are year round surfers at the NJ Shore…my next door neighbor and his 17 year old son surf almost daily…and I don’t mean the internet.
Personally, I’ve been looking (online) at property near Reidsville, NC and also extreme southern Delaware, near…[Read more] -

Dave, I have never seen a pinto frame but I can’t imagine it would differ that greatly from the CMC chevette frame I have a couple of shots of the chevette frame without body in my gallery. Maybe Mark or others familiar with the ford frame could tell you how close it is or isn’t and if it is close I would be happy to send you some more photos and…[Read more]

Ed, you have posted useful info it was your post at the beginning of this thread that showed me what I was up against and how to shorten the cables. The musings are fun too. It is the camaraderie and advice that brought me here and keeps me checking back daily. It is also cool how some of the members have actually gotten together at meets or near…[Read more]

Right now my car is buried in the driveway under a frozen snow covered cover. As soon as it melts on Monday I will be happy to measure anything you need. I will get the above dimensions and any others you need, just let me know.

Back again, still planning my build. I have a question about your TDs. What is the cockpit width and seat width? I have looked at some Locost plans for inspiration, but they are quite narrow (and I am not). What is the dimension of the cockpit floor from the seatback to the pedals? How much narrower is the footwell area than the pass…[Read more]

We’re just tougher here in the north! Or perhaps crazy.
I read today the “real feel” temperature (that’s with the wind chill factor) in Bismarck North Dakota on Wednesday was 52 degrees below zero.NJ will be about a zero with the wind chill this weekend. Heck, that’s down right balmy by comparison!

I actually never broke it down, but all of the fabrication for the electrical we did ourselves. including CNC machined battery boxes. I would guess about $6500.00 for the conversion we bought batteries at wholesale from a friend. Actually EV,s technology isn’t rocket science. It’s golf cart technology with a few more volts. It’s easier to un…[Read more]

Doug, you da man! That’s a sweet job, beautiful car, and very much in line with what I was thinking–right down to the batteries in the back, either side of the motor. Alas, your range and speed are both less than I would need. Looks like you’ve got all the batteries that would fit, too. I was thinking I could get at least 8 or 9 up front and 4 in…[Read more]

Doug, That’s a real neat car you have, looks to be very well done. I checked out your link and pictures along with the cost breakdown but I could not figure out how much went toward restoration and how much it actually cost to do the electric conversion.
