Ed, I edited your post to turn the url’s into live links. Hope you don’t mind. Great stuff!
And James…good thing you have the luggage rack for your MG. Your wife’s bag would really cost you if you decided to fly! -

Thanks. My main three tow vehicles are a 4×4 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, straight 6, lifted, 31.5″ tires with class III bolt on hitch, an International Scout II 4×4 with 345 V-8, towing package, with front and rear hitches welded to the frame with jumbo mudders, and a Lincoln Mark IV with 460 V-8, welded hitch. I will probably use the Scout since it p…[Read more]

WOW!!! Sounds like fun in the future for the Cochran’s.
I’m not a trailer expert, but I think dual axles, both with brakes are the way to go. Light weight and aerodynamic as possible seems like a gas mileage and less tow vehicle abuse improvement too.
Most of these replica car weights range from the 1,500-1700 lbs. for the VW based and…[Read more] -

Hi Buddy, You may be able to slide a ruler thru the hole in the firewall that the rod from the pedal assembly to the master cylinder passes to check the measurement. Since you need to move them anyway, why don’t you locate them to fit your personal leg length or preference? Also keep in mind the seat position in reference to the steering wheel…[Read more]

Cool article. Thanks for passing it on. I love the top illustration of the cars bouncing in the Popular Science one.
I use a folding tire step for my removable luggage rack (see my pics). The step folds flat to store behind the seat. I have since found the tire step in chrome. The step can support over two hundred pounds, about enough for my…[Read more] -

Hey Mark,
Did the NJ guy trailer the car?
Because I saw it at a car show up at the BMW offices in northern NJ. And he might have been at Memorial Day Madness at the M&Ms plant one year too.
Gets around!

Lynn, these grilles are no longer available and have not been for several years.
Moss Motors used to sell reproduction units, but sold their last ones early in the decade.
I spent $800 to get mine rechromed when I had the BCW “Pink MG”. -

I would not want to try to drive this thing around a corner…but I’ll bet it’s fast in a straight line!
I’ve seen that yellow V8 TD at a cruise night in central NJ a few years ago. It too was a “straight line” car. -
Geoffrey replied to the topic TD with 9x the HP in the forum General Discussion 15 years, 8 months ago
That is really cool! I don’t think you could slide a piece of paper in that engine compartment though. I bet that is a fun car to drive (in a straight line).

Yeah. Like he should have the shifter sticking up to about the height of the windshield!
And put an 8-71 blower on it and a set of Hillborns. Really run the ball to the End Zone!Even as it sits I’d be afraid to drive it. I had maybe 300 hp in my 2900-lb Nova and that thing was scary enough. 450 hp in 2300 pounds, and with basically no bumpers…[Read more]

Sweet ride. But as is, the car reminds me of those Ed Roth “car-icatures” from the late sixties/early seventies. I think I would have gone a little less severe on the rear tires. There is an original ’52 TD street rod running around northern NJ. Yello body, black top and interior. No sides on the engine compartment. And it’s been a few year since I…[Read more]
