It should “wiggle” right off. The crank is keyed, but not tapered. Tap not pound) on the pulley OD with a rubber hammer and it should come right off…that is as long as the nut is removed!

Becky,
I noticed the vacuum cleaner in the garage. That must have been where Larry let go of the handle.

Becky,
That is too funny! I also got my car on mother’s day and I had my mother over, but found it really difficult to spend any time away from my car (sorry mom).
Sounds like your husband definitely loves you dearly, after all he got you an MG, maybe you could forgive the housework for a while?!
You guys definitely have the best st…[Read more] -

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Larry, hope you got your cot set up in the garage, like Geoff has done.
Looks like the Pink MG has a great new home and family. Left one great family for another, one lucky automobile indeed.
Look forward to future pics and the pic of Larry behind the wheel as she glides down the highway. Looking forward to see a…[Read more] -

Wow Larry,
That car looks really sweet!!!!
I bet you’re working the night shift getting it all together. That is going to be one fine ride.
Mark, I don’t know how you were able to part with it, but it sure looks like it went to a great home.
All the Best!

Mark, dude!
You’re being kinda rough on our CMC/FiberFab frames!
My metric of a good frame is that it stays together when I hit a big bump
I have my standards too….they’re low, but I have my standards

The best thing to do is find a Ford based CMC kit and go look at it. Maybe someone has pictures if their build.
In 2001, I bought a complete, un-built CMC/Ford TD. I had tons of pictures of every square inch of the bare frame to rolling chassis build. Unfortunatley, they were “electronic” and after selling the car to the California buyer and…[Read more] -

We need to know if it’s cable or electronic and if it’s VW or Chevette driveline.
I hope it’s not what happened to my former Pink MG…The drive gear (worm gear) on the transmission tail shaft disintegrated. This is common and happens because it’s nylon and when it sits in gear oil for a long time, the nylon swells…really swells.
So, at some…[Read more] -

Larry,
You’ve been a busy man! The picutres look greatThat new chrome really shines! It should purr like a kitten!
It’s hard to see in the picture, but I think you used the straight water outlet (Stat housing) that I got from a Chevette Forum member in Canada. That was one hard part to find. The original aimed the outlet at the master…[Read more] -

Peril , The first thing to check is the cable to the transmishion from the spedo after sitting a long time or limited use the spining part inside the cable gets bad you can try replacing the inside, all auto parts stores have them cheep and a quick fix it is universal part simple replacement. Best of luck, Dan R

Today at 10:30 am she came to life for the 1st time in NC. What a good feeling to hear it run after those hours of figuring out where it went and how does it go. Mark did a good job of labeling and grouping stuff together and the two manuels were a great help also. I sent Mark some pictures in hopes that he can get them on the forum,it seems…[Read more]

I’m sorry if I missed it, but what drive train are we talking here?
Is it a mechanical or elctric speedo?
