Hi Andre,
I wish I could tell you. They say that beauty is in the eyes ofthe beholder. I know that I had “Maurice” insured for $25,000 for a long time. Now with supply & demand as it is , who knows. I would probably turn down $25,000.

I live about 4 miles from Chic a , go there once in a while.I think the ford is a little narrower than the Buick and 302/t5 is not much heaver than a 2.3 c4, might be lighter with aluminum intake surely with aluminum heads, don’t expect it to fly.I’m an old guy and don’t drive hard, just an occasional hard 1/2 shift!!

If you are planning on building a car that is nose heavy, won’t handle, won’t steer and requires a lot of frame mods…install a V8, then go to the drags with it. The Ford V8 is the smaller dimensions between it and a small block Chevy. Way too much torque for what CMC built though.
I started to build, but later sold as a rolling chassis, a Pinto…[Read more] -

I saw a TD kit with a 302 ford engine on e-bay a while ago. It fit, not sure about anything else. I’ll take a ride also when you get it in!

Hey new guy from NJ. Where are you? There’s a street rod running around north NJ with a V8 stuffed into an original MG TD. So that probably means it would fit into a front engine based TD replica. I’ve never seen one done tho. But…when you finish…I want ride!

Geoff:Does the shift lever depress down and move over but the car doesn’t go into reverse? Or does the shift lever just not move further to the left than 1st and 2nd position? Is the shifting stiff or tight going into other gears? Does “rocking” the car while trying to shift into reverse make any difference?Ringo

Thanks Paul! The photos will let me scale out the dimensions just fine. Most photos of original dashes are at an angle that wouldn’t let me accurately measure the opening.Again, many thanks,

Hi Ringo,I searched and cannot find measurements. A friend of mine is restoring (slowly…very slowly) an original TD. I could ask him. Let me know. Or you might be able to make an educated guess by using these photos. One is of a dash parts diagram. The other is from a company that makes TD (and other) dashes out of a variety of woods. Just print…[Read more]

Hi Rob,
Where are you located?
My BCW Chevette based replica weighs 2,055 according to the scale at Red Bank Recylcers.
You can always go to a local scrap metal dealer or AGWAY where they have scales. They may not even charge you much to weigh the car either. Tell them you need an exact weight for DMV purposes.
I’m 6’4″ and a svelte 255 and I h…[Read more] -

I’m a little excited that I’ll be looking at this car. Hope it’s as good as I expect. The seller was concerned I may be too big. These cars certainly don’t replace our daily drivers relative to space and luxuries.
Paul my wife will be in Summit this weekend visiting her Mom. I’m home watching the dogs. Perhaps I’ll get in touch with you on…[Read more] -
