I hope to roll up on Thursday late afternoon after work if I can get Friday off. Most likely will not make the Caddy shack but if anyone else is running late I can meet for dinner.
Otherwise it will be after work on Friday.

I am planning/hoping to roll in Thursday evening. I have to tow Bridget this time b/c I’m picking up the Spyder’s engine from Carey Hines, so there will be some rigamarole involved in getting set up and on the road after work.

I don’t know if this string is still alive or not, but thought I would give it a try as I also have a speedo problem. Pulled the wheel, removed cable from speedo and tested it and cable seems good. I think the trouble is in speedo. I have a “VDO” model speedometer. I removed the speedo from the dash, and removed the two nuts and the wash…[Read more]

Sorry for the delay in responding Rabien. Re. painting the grill I used a Rustoleum Almond Color and painted it on with a disposable sponge brush. I had previously spray painted the grill a semi-gloss black, so the Almond went right over that with decent coverage. Has been about a year since I did it and it is holding up just fine.

My British Coach Works Model ’52 has 14 Inch wheels too mounted with P185 75 R14 tires. As far as I can tell the wheels are original to the car (factory manufacturered vintage 1986).
I’ve been looking for replacements and there is a Continenal 185 80 R14 called the “Vanco 8” which is the highest aspect ratio (width to height.. the “80”…[Read more]

Yes, 14″x4-1/2″.
Oh, and the wires on my car are 14″. Look great.

The key metric to watch out for is the inch increase in track width, imho.

Sorry, Mickey-Richard, but I put real British knock off wire wheels from a Triumph Stag on my TDr about 4 years ago. I also put slightly larger P185x75R14 tires on. The result is almost identical outer tire diameter as the popular TD 165R15 tires so as to not change the car’s profile …….and the speedometer is still accurate. You’ve got to…[Read more]

Just a heads-up: MGB wheels are 14″ diameter. Won’t look “right” on T-series, replica or original.

One of my customers saw my car today for the first time and informed me he has a set of knock off wire wheels from his daughters 1966 MGB. All he has is the wheels. No attaching parts. He says he’ll bring them in for me to photograph. If anyone has interest, stay tuned for photos. He sounds as if he’ll accept any reasonable offer.

I do not disagree with anything said previously except: Why change??? I think that generators generally get a bad rap and are blamed for bad wiring, bad grounds, bad voltage regulator and bad battery. The factory installed generator is adequate for all normal electrical needs. (Normal does not include four extra high intensity headlights capa…[Read more]

A couple of other things.
The new alternators come internally regulated therefore the current external voltage regulator is no longer required. You may find some outfit selling externally regulated alternators but there are not many. The external voltage regulator can be removed but I’d save it.
You’ll have to change the fuel pump and fuel…[Read more]

Mine were filthy with a tendency to lockup easily, and one or two (forget now) needed adjusting too.
Brake cleaner on the pads and drums and a screwdriver to turn the star-wheel (adjusters) is all that it took to fix it. Fairly simple thing, DIY job, just not something you want to get wrong either so I won’t try to explain it.
