  • Curiously enough, I expected a replacement tank I got from Jbugs to be coated inside. Like you say, that’s what is usually said about them.

There was a note saying it was sent without that coating, and yet their web page has a prominent warning about the coating needing to be cleaned out.

  • Fun to see that.

Glad your crash wasn’t like the other car that rolled. I looked at it a few times and thought maybe I could see the car bounce, so was thinking maybe that was what made the rear wheels let loose. Hard to tell. You would know better than I.

And the car that rolled did bounce some before steering into the curb, but no way of…[Read more]

  • Thanks for that, Ed! I probably should edit it again to remove all the middle and leave only the beginning and end. I forget it only makes for putting things on the minds of other people.

Other edits were done to fix errors when I reread it. You sure wouldn’t want me to talk in person, I don’t even do well about ordinary talk. LOL

    It’s just…[Read more]

  • Sympathies to all.

Tragedy is nothing new to me personally. I’m anti-gun because, although my grandfather (born early last century) hunted up until I was a teenager I was never a hunter myself and I was shot in the arm at my first job at a hotel by unknown person. I didn’t even know it was a bullet hole in my arm (only very painful). Just…[Read more]

Mine were filthy with a tendency to lockup easily, and one or two (forget now) needed adjusting too.

Brake cleaner on the pads and drums (avoid hub bearings) and a screwdriver to turn the star-wheel (adjusters) is all that it took to fix it. Fairly simple thing, DIY job, just not something you want to get wrong either so I won’t try to explain it.

    😉

I’ve never seen a place made to be able to do that, on purpose anyway. Drove a ’69 Toyota Corona across the rocky shallows of a river once with a couple girls on the roof to get across to a gathering of people with 4X4’s. I’m seldom that brave but the water only reached into the floor of that little car and I had the extra weight to help…[Read more]

Hey Paul, that looks like a quick and easy tour with all those covered bridges so close together.

When I saw the two at NW part of the map I almost didn’t think it strange how the route backtracks. Had to see if it was for a reason I encounter here, closed roads and the general way these kinds of bridges can be in rough terrain.

I think mine is the standard circa 1970 type with both switches, but I think only the forward one is connected/functional. Thought I had a picture of it from when I was trying to find out why I lost brake lights (loose switch connections), couldn’t locate that to be sure about the wiring.

That’s a good idea too. I only thought about a direct route via metropolitan areas so I could see all the usual tourist places, so a scenic route would be better than doubling back. Main consideration is time, I know it takes a while going place to place as it is, and more so on those winding country roads to the isolated spots. But I also like…[Read more]

I keep telling myself, ‘someday I’m going to see the northeast US’. I’ve been across the country from southern tip of Florida to Washington state (only stepped into Canada there), north to Ohio and Washington D.C. but not into the NE corner of the country.

I’m going to try to plan a long touring visit whenever I do get there, so events i…[Read more]

Only thought about it because my still new car has one and it has been useful in parking lots or backing up close to things. But that’s with a car that doesn’t have much of a view out the back, I don’t have any trouble seeing behind the little MGTDr. Hmm, wait, maybe I should rethink that. I backed my tailpipes into something the first day I had…[Read more]

  • Hi Allen.

David said “filaments” inside the bulbs so I’m not sure if you misread what he was saying.

I believe there would be 2 contacts for the brake bulb so it can act as both normal light and brake light, therefore 2 wires going to it. I’m thinking maybe since you say “both wires”, meaning 2, that could mean one is the brake and other is…[Read more]
