I used a marine grade, normally open, push button switch wired in series with the keyed ignition switch. The marine switch has 15 amp rated contacts so heat and high amperage switching is not an issue. Reason for wiring push button in series with ignition switch is so I can turn the engine off. Wiring diagrams in tech section will show schematics

Steve. I have a starter button that is used when doing maintenance on the car. I got it at AutoZone or O’Reilleys or one o them parts stores. Anyway; it just clips to the battery and the starter solenoid. Then press and hold the button till the engine starts. But But you still have to have the key on to provide power to the ignition system.…[Read more]

You could stick with the Bond theme and call her “M”, and you could be the gadget guy “Q”! Peele is good though. Maybe the name of the British writer in Murder She Wrote. Just a few thoughts spinning around in my head. My TDr is “MoneyPenny” and my 74 Ghia was “Das Feureren” (the fox).

Welcome aboard Rabien73. Are you doing tweaks on your TDr or building? Either way, you’ve come to the right place.

Almost ready to put “(name here)” on the road. Highway patrol inspection 4-11. Put in a new battery and alternator, as well as a coolant recovery bottle. Warms up nicely in the driveway. Insurance card printed, but..she has no name. I know all the good names are taken. Thank you MoneyPenney and Zella, as well as others. I’m thinking British fe…[Read more]

Just for grins and giggles, I am wanting to bypass the “start” function on the key and wire in a starter button instead. I have looked on YouTube and seen several different ways of doing it; going straight from the battery, through a switch then to the starter motor; going from the solenoid HOT side, through a switch to the battery; going from the…[Read more]

Good on ya, Greg. And right, same thing happened when I had the tire guys slap on new tires and align it. Driving home I thought I was gonna die. Car wandered and rode so rough. Checked the tire pressure in the driveway: 36 all around.
Set them at like 16 and 24 and was instantly happy.

It’s amazing how much better the car rides with four new matched tires. As other have mentioned, Discount Tire loaded them up to close to 30 psi. After lowing the front down to 18 the ride and cornering is great. Had to take it the local winery, Orfila, for a test drive.
