Thanks Allen, I will mark it as such. None of the fiberglass is mounted yet, but it seems right. Good luck with your build. Bill

Bill. I don’t have a CMC Chevy/Ford kit I have a CMC/Fiberfab VW kit I’ve been building and the lower bar appears similar to the bar in my kit. Mine goes underneath the front fenders where they come together. It is extra support for the front of the fenders and keeps them aligned with each other. It also is used to mount the fog lights. As for the…[Read more]

Hi to All: I am a new member and recently purchased a CMC TD unassembled kit. I have the manual, but find no reference to these 2 parts? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bill

Looks sort of like what the Allies attached to the front of the Sherman tanks in WWII to tear through the hedge rows in France after D-Day. Cut through them no problem.
You seam to be a VERY talented guy with the spanners and welders!

That looks like a lot of cutting and welding. Will you bolt it to the bucket or weld it?

New intake manifold is in. Hopefully this weekend I’ll have time to throw it on.
Meanwhile, been working on getting a quote for a Morton building. Looking at a 54x60x14 building.
Also, took some time to build a few toothbars for tractor buckets. One for me, one for a guy I work with.

Emma seems like a good one to me. But this is really a personal matter. In my experience, the car suggests the name. I don’t remember thinking about naming Bridget.
Same thing with my mom’s old Nova when i was a kid. The car was called “Bess,” and that was that. My dad’s Nova, basically the same car, did not get a name. And my Nova–also the…[Read more]

Here’s what I have. A pull switch to provide the twelve volts and a starter button to energize the starter.

But if you really want to be super cool, you can buy a pull to start switch just like on the original TD’s. Many sources.

My hands down favorite name in the club is “Money Penny” I’m a huge bond fan and I think it’s Brilliant! Just thinking of your car…Perhaps “Emily” would be nice or if you’re looking for something a little more “Sinister” then “Emora or Esmeralda” might work…
I named my little “Snot Rocket”…”Penny Marie” after my Mother, when she passed…[Read more]

I used a marine grade, normally open, push button switch wired in series with the keyed ignition switch. The marine switch has 15 amp rated contacts so heat and high amperage switching is not an issue. Reason for wiring push button in series with ignition switch is so I can turn the engine off. Wiring diagrams in tech section will show schematics

Steve. I have a starter button that is used when doing maintenance on the car. I got it at AutoZone or O’Reilleys or one o them parts stores. Anyway; it just clips to the battery and the starter solenoid. Then press and hold the button till the engine starts. But But you still have to have the key on to provide power to the ignition system.…[Read more]
