I cut some pie cuts out of some 2″ schedule 10 stainless pipe so they’re 15 degrees total for each piece. This requires 6 pieces per 90* total angle. I laid it out today and I can get it to fit but the engine lid is just barely making contact with it where it comes off the carb so I’m going to be doing some 20 and 30 degree pie cuts to try to li…[Read more]

Dave. Good hearing from you again. Some of our seasoned club veterans may have done that very thing and can expound on it. I have heard of some guys in the VW forums threading a bolt into the starter bushing and pulling the bushing out that way. I’ve never tried it though. It is all for show nowadays so I suspect Ed could fab up some fibreglass six pack abs and biceps. That should intimidate the “real” MG crowd. In my case I will need some expansion seams so it will fit in the winter
