As stated above, here’s what unfolded. Tank liner modified and fits very well. Then I added a 3/4 inch wood shim stock under the front end to assure the clearance. Looks really nice. However, while using flashlight to inspect inside of tank I noticed serious rust right behind the fuel pickup. I pulled the tank and checked with a pin punch. Punch…[Read more]

While I’m taking a lunch break and still have two shoulders to work with, I’m feverishly working the assembly of Moneypenny. For those who don’t know, I believe I have one of the few Fiberfab/CMC combination kits. Not sure about the other VW based kits but it appears the Gas Tank Liner in my kit is CMC. Sorry to say it did not work. Would not hold air overnight. It’s now at a tire store getting it’s tube reinstalled. Yes, they are ordering me another tube I can carry with.(At all times)

Me,I visit everyday to see if there are any new members to greet, or if someone has posted pics of a car show they’ve been in, or just to check in.
Like many member sites the postings go up and down (sort of like the stock market), and right now it’s sort of slow. When (and if) I have something to toss in to the ring, I do.

Winter preparations? Heck, gas up the tank and check the oil and the tires. It’s DRIVING season here in Las Vegas! Blue skies and 70s by mid-afternoon all winter long.
