just mounted the roof rib mounting plate and tucked lead edge into windshield frame. Vinyl is about 5″ from body.Even with Ferrari rake on the windshield. my plan is to lower the mounting plates.

I cut 1 and 3/4 inches out of the column extender and raised the column to the bottom of the dash. seems comfortable enough. 5’11” 210 lbs. have the seat back just below the shelf.

Tom Vilardi replied to the topic Original hood in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 9 years, 6 months ago
If you try to go with an original hood (and I’m assuming you mean just the top) there will be slight variations btw. the ones fabricated for our cars and the 65+/- year old ones in both length and the way the sides curve.
I have a BCW and confirmed with an original hood top that the side curvature is exactly the same as an original, BUT the length… -

Hey guys I am new to the site and was reading some of the posts. Just purchased a vw based MGTD kit. The car Arrived a couple of days ago.The hood had been stolen. does anyone know where I may find a good used hood. A new one is really expensive and after forking out money on the car I was not prepared to purchase a hood.

I am looking for a hood for my vw based mg TD kit. The car I just purchased had the hood stolen when it was being transported. Does anyone know where I can get one for a reasonable price?

My BCW seems to still have ALL the HP sapping EPA crap on it from the 1980’s. Odometer only reads 16K miles – so if that number is correct and BCW was really installing brand new GM engines, the darn thing is barely broken in after almost 30 years!
Eventually I’ll hit a big pot-hole and the cat and air pipe will be gone! -

Mine has always had a muffler and no cat. Now that I’ve converted to a 2.2L Chevy flex-fuel I’ve got a muffler & pipe.

“cut out a portion” of the back of the existing boot, NOT “put out a portion”

Thanks Ric and Court,
Eventually I’ll figure something out about the “trunk”. I guess another option would be to put out a portion of the panel that makes the behind the seat boot for access too.So does your catalytic converter double as a muffler too? That’s what it looks like on mine. Just the cat (with the air line going into it) and nothing else.Tom -

I also felt the space in the rear was a waste so I created a boot. I used the existing hinge and added an electric latch.

Sorry I’m late in responding. February was really busy. My trunk is useful. I put the battery there. I also carpeted it. The trunk is easily accessible by swinging the spare tire to the side. I am pretty sure the factory built my car. My key and light switch work. Although the high/low switch is a little iffy. I did have to do some new wi…[Read more]

Dang. That does suck. Hope it gets better and stays that way for at least a long time.
If no one here bites on those rocker arms, you might try listing them on the Speedster Owners Group’s classified thread. Lotta dudes there might be interested.edsnova2016-03-05 13:53:47

Thanks Bill, I’ve had problems with double vision since just before last Carlisle. Gotten worse, but maybe it’s better now. The worst of it is the cost and loss of confidence. There was a period of about 2 months (Dec-Jan) that I couldn’t drive, couldn’t read, couldn’t play the organ. Age and genetics related. Sucks!Royal2016-03-05 13:50:38
