If it’s a VW tank, any foreign auto store will carry a VW cap for whatever year you have. Also Amazon and the huge number of VW on-line businesses. Then, there is always MG Magic which has all kind of parts for MG kit cars.

OK so: I’m planning on handing out cruise directions via text or email so you can just hit the link on your phone and open the turn-by-turn navigation. This will require the (free) Google Maps app, which I suppose many of you already have and which I downloaded for the first time onto my iphone a couple weeks ago. Seems to work fine.

Well, after years of modifications and finally having a seat that was comfortable for me (6’2″, 235#) the folks at SCCA have decided that all Hillclimb cars have a one piece seat. No hinged back seats allowed. I protested as the seat in the TDr is a fixed 2piece unit. Nope. No good. I have to install a one piece unit. I don’t know if you ever…[Read more]

Yep. They can be shortened, as you discovered. Couple years ago as I finalized my Spyder build I discovered the same issue—the shaft length that had looked perfect in mock-up was, in reality, not quite perfect,
That kit uses a stock Beetle assy. so it was down to cutting the slotted end and re-slotting it for the stock D clamp. Pushed it in a…[Read more]

Sorry folks, it’s been a while since I added to my post. Work seems to always get in the way with the hobbies. 😉
One of the projects on this car was to move the steering wheel forward as much as permitted. The steering wheel felt a little too much into “my space”. OK, it wanted to rub slightly on my belly. Looking at the original posit…[Read more]
