Do not let them balance them using the center cone as mounting on the tire balancer. There are adaptor plates to mount the wheel to and then that adaptor is mounted to the balancer. Find someone with experience with wires.

You know I was studying the photograph and I noticed that it looked as if there is one yellow and one white fog light and then it HIT me!!I think I am going to paint the rims on one side green and the silver/grey on the other!! Because I am torn and then I can judge for myself and see what others reaction would be.Hmmmmm

So, Allen (Newkitman) doesn’t like the color matching wheels, but Kent does. I’m sure that Allen would go on to say, personalize it and make it yours. You’ll find that Ed (edsnova) bends over backwards to get that original Morris Garage TD look while others do whatever feels good. I don’t think that any of us are ever “done” with our ch…[Read more]

Welcome. Love the look of color-matching wheels and hubcaps. That may make me reconsider repainting my wheels down the road at some point…

Make sure the tubes you purchase are compatible with radial tires, also.
They may all be that way now, but it didn’t use to be that way. Radials are designed to have more flexible sidewalls and the tubes have to be able to handle that, without “chafing” inside the tire. -

Bill is spot on. I have almost always had wire wheels on my sporty cars. It is not uncommon to find duct tape used on the rim on top of the spokes to protect the tube. Rimmer Brothers sells a rubber band like protector for this purpose which is a bit more elegant solution than tape. Tubes are not hard to find. You may hear some say that the…[Read more]

When I ran wires on mine, I ended up using tubes for the same reason. It kept losing air at the spokes. Tubes can be found (ordered) at tire stores. If the tire store won’t touch your wheels with tubes you need to find another tire store.

MG Magic sells parts for TD reproductions Mike.Their carpet sets will likely work. With a major “but.”The majority of MG Magic’s parts are for Fiberfab cars. Each kit manufacturer is slightly different. And the floor dimensions may be different. I recommend you draw the dimensions of your floor and ask MG Magic for the dimensions of their carpet kits.
