It all depends on too many factors. If the car is in great shape snd the engine and tranny are good, you may have gotten a great deal, indeed.

So what I am hearing from this is that I get a ridiculously good deal on this thing, since it has no real issues and I paid $5,500? Excellent!

I hate to ask this of you folks, but I am dealing with my parents’ estate. Dad had a replica that I need to determine value on.
It’s a 1971 VW bug chassis. It sat in a garage since late 90’s and I’ve done some work on it to get it running again. It still needs adjusting to help run smoothly, but it starts and idles, however rough. I put a har…[Read more]

Just finished all the engine work I needed to do on my TDR. Now, the car runs and drives as it should. I initially expected that 60 hsp was going to feel really slow compared to other cars I have driven, but now that I have been able to take the car out for a spin, I can say that my TDR really moves.
I am pleasantly surprised by how fast the car felt.

If the link does not work, there are twp MG TD replicas on ebay right now. Each is listed at $14,000. No auction. Buy it now.

As did Mark, I also went with agreed value with Hagerty. It’s hard to apply a hard and fast value on these as they are all different.

After my London Roadster road worth and I could drive it again, I wanted insurance coverage with Hagerty at agreed value. I looked at current prices for running kit cars in good condition.

Another Duryea Hillclimb is in the books. The weather forecast called for rain both Saturday and Sunday. I contemplated not running but decided I’d just go and have fun playing in the wet. My first run was a 182.5 seconds. The rain stopped but the road was still wet and I dropped to 156.3 after my third run. A lot of folks packed up and left…[Read more]

billnparts replied to the topic Question about glass fuse system in Ford Duchess kit in the forum General Discussion 1 year ago
Pretty much. The fuse panel should have both “Hot all the time” as well as “Hot with key on only”. If you have wiring with melted insulation, replace the wires. Good luck.

That’s how I would do it.

<p style=”text-align: justify;”>Paul has told me that some circuits are always on/hot, like the headlights. So I know I need to turn my key to the on position, but not start the car, and retest those 8 other circuits to see if they light up with the light meter. He also said that the light indicates that the circuits are working. A non lit circuit…[Read more]

Great find, Lino. IMHO, a small V6 is just about ideal for these little cars. I look forward to seeing more of this one.

I need help. I’m trying to diagnose a short. My turn signals/gas gage/wipers shorted out. All are on the same circuit. I’m testing with a light meter. I get a light on the 4 fuse connectors to the right(#1-4). I do not get any light reading on the other 8 connectors (#5-12).
I found 2 wires that had shorted out and melted the casings. I wrapped…[Read more]
