THANK YOU. I was about ready to tear my hair out. No matter how I searched online, I just kept getting sent to the same dead-ends. The only conclusion that I could come to was that the Duchess would have a near identical wiring schematic. As much as I wish I didn’t have to buy it, I won’t look a gift-horse in the mouth.

I have a London Roadster that I am looking to re tool the dash. I was thinking of putting in a infotainment system to handle hands free. Here in NY it is the Law. Plus love to have android auto. So the question is, has anyone done this and any suggestions. I am looking to change over the old radio cutout to something that would handle a single din.

Kurt,
Hello (again)
I did find someone selling a manual. Sad that folks want to make money off this. But if you are truly in need …

Hello Kurt
Regrettably, Classic Roadsters Ltd. Closed their door decades ago. We have their assembly manual for a VW based Duchess (their TD replica). But we don’t have a Marlene manual. Sorry!

This might be more coherent.
First you go to your own thing. Upper right corner it should say something like “Howdy, Happy Jack.” Click on that and you get a drop-down menu. At the bottom it says “media.” Hover over that with your curser and you should see another drop-down menu with “albums,” “photos” “videos.” Click on “photos.”
That shou…[Read more]

1988 Classic Roadsters Duchess Deluxe II Kit – Retailed for $7995 back in 1988
Been in dry store for many years and have concluded that I have too many projects; I will never get to this one.
Previous owner got the kit rolling, purchased drive train, engine, transmission, axle and suspension – plus other items.
Engine is 1997 Ford Ranger 2…[Read more]

Too dang hot here now for a drive. Setting aside the fact my carburetor is poorly adjusted. Looks like you had a good hill climb!

It seems no one has posted anything in weeks. Here goes…How I spent the weekend of June 21-22.
We started with fantastic weather. A bit warm but ok. Sunday at lunch the rain started. Intermittent showers that varied in intensity. Luckily, my run group had just finished and were returning to our pits.
Here is a run from Saturday morning. The…[Read more]

Is the company, or whatever company it has become, still around? Do you think I could get in touch with them, to find a manual for the marlene model?

Does anybody have the manufacturer’s manual on the Marlene model of CR Ltd. vehicles? I recently came into ownership of one, and I am attempting to restore it. I am currently unable to get the starter motor to turn, but can get power to it. I can’t figure out what’s wrong, or where to start in sorting through the rat’s nest of wires I was left with.

Hi William,
I just searched for “seat belts with mg logo” and found many vendors in addition to the traditional ones you mention. Ranged from eBay and Etsy to known parts vendors.

And a recommendation … replace them with the original style black rubber; not the silicone. Original style will last longer!

I bought a roll of black marine carpet from Lowes or Home Depot. On part of the floor it’s laid over 1/2-inch foam padding, the rest it’s glued on with 3M Super 77. Real TDs all had black low pile carpet from the factory (not loop pile, no edge bindings) so this method is actually pretty “period correct” as well as being stupid-cheap.
Take your…[Read more]

When I rehabilitated my MiGi TD I tore out orange shag carpet that was glued to the entire interior except the door cards. I used marine grade carpet that will standup to getting wet without the smell that normally occurs with wet wool based carpet.
Initially I used double sided carpet tape but found that cleaning the floor carpet at end of…[Read more]
