    @pmossberg

    Now THIS is a used car lot!!!!

    I think there is a baby blue MG TD behind the white Corvette (in front of left side of garage door). If you go to Hemmings’ site, you can click through for a much larger image.

    Yes, it’s still a used car lot! It even has the original sign, just turned 90 degrees.

    If you own a TDr and are not in the Registry, please go to https://tdreplica.com/forums/topic/mg-td-replica-registry/ and register (you need to copy and paste the link)

    You have a great eye, Paul. Looking at the bigger picture I think you are right, but I would never have noticed the car at all w/o you mentioning it. Seems no one on Hemmings noticed either. Someone asked what the blue car behind the ‘vette is. I just posted your guess as mine.

    Wow. I could’ve spent hours drooling over that day’s selections back then, but most likely couldn’t have afforded to buy any of them.

    I have a NADA price guide from February 1962.  Just an idea of few retail prices:

    1952 MGTD  $460

    1957 Jag XK140 $1180

    1955 Corvette $940

    1956 T-Bird $1885

    1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta $1200

    1960 Austin Healey 3000 $2025

    1957 Porsche 356a Carrera $1720

    I’ll take several of each please.

    Wow, the T-bird is worth double the vette. Only one year difference

    Huge performance difference between the Vette and T-bird.

    The ’55 Vette was a 6 cylinder with only a 2-speed automatic. The ’66 T-bird was a small V-8 (292 or 312ci I think) and may have had a manual tranny available. The ’56 Vette was a 265ci V8 with a 3-speed manual tranny available in addition to the 2-speed PowerGlide..KentT2015-01-08 09:30:12
