I found another HIPPY HGTD Replica, this one is from Pakistan. Never did find out where the other one was from, but the license plates look similar.

superbly shot by @sara_jil MG TD Midget it’s a very cool replica of a very desirable
car..and the khaadi (clothing) marketing ppl have made it into an interesting artistic
piece. some of these replica kits are based on VW Beetles so can be an easy and
affordable way of having something unique. #mg #mgtd #mgtf #midget #english #british

March 10, 2015 at 7:00 pm #263664I’m almost wondering if they are the same car? They look almost identical to me!
March 10, 2015 at 7:05 pm #263665Too many coincidences. Even the decal on the door. Gotta be the same car.
March 10, 2015 at 8:18 pm #263666But the front grill logos are different colors and the stickers on the windshield look different.

March 10, 2015 at 8:22 pm #263667And the headlights on the first one look larger, and the 2d one seems to have two holes or something down low on the inside right fender near the bumper.

March 10, 2015 at 9:00 pm #263668That’s two shots of one car. Did anyone else notice the top frame? I believe that is a legit three-bow late TD top frame.

March 10, 2015 at 10:54 pm #263670How can you be sure it’s a replica at all? No nubs for wipers, the wheels look like real TD wheels, folding windshield, and the bodywork has wrinkles in it (ahead of the cowl and the rear fender) that are not consistent with fiberglass. In a third world country, it would not be surprising if they fabricated a new grille if the original was damaged somewhere. In the Philippines, they make entire replica Jeeps out of stainless. It’s also RHD and you guys noted a 3-bow top frame.johnsimion2015-03-10 22:56:58
March 10, 2015 at 10:57 pm #263671The post said it was a Replica.

March 11, 2015 at 7:53 am #263672The wheels are not MG wheels. Toyota or Nissan, I think.
Look too at the valleys of the front fenders. That is not a TD look.Under the fenders: can’t see very well, but doesn’t look like a TD/MG steering and suspension. (Not a VW beam either).I take it at face value that it’s a replica. But, right: it’s probably not a replica mfg’d in the USA or Brazil.edsnova2015-03-11 07:57:04
