The Carlisle Kit and Import Car show for 2013 is scheduled for May 17-19. I am planning (penciled in) on going as is my wife, Julie. I hope that we can get some more of the women to come to the show this coming year else, I may lose my navigator.
I would appreciate some early feel for how many (and especially wives/girlfriends) are going as Julie and I may have a conflict (but a TDr “feeding frenzy” could make a difference in our plans).November 6, 2012 at 10:34 pm #252432Karen is a likely right seater. She’d like to meet Julie and Patti. She likes Dale’s wife too; I think they talked knitting last Pumpkin Run.
November 7, 2012 at 6:51 am #252433I plan on bringing (as in driving) my TD there. Linda and I will be there. Looking forward to seeing many more TDers there this year.

November 7, 2012 at 5:51 pm #252435We won’t be registering the MINI at Carlisle due to Patti’s work schedule.
She will accompany me if she has the available time, but at that time of year, her attendance will be last minute. She’ll be there if she can.Bill Ascheman

November 18, 2012 at 7:59 am #252443This looks very promising.
I think I counted six TDs on the field briefly in 2011, including a dude
from around Baltimore whose name I’ve forgotten (he never joined the
board), and the clock maker guy from Delaware whose front-engine BCW had
the plate LVLY LDY or something like that. Great car, nice guy; haven’t
heard from him in a while. Might have been only five that year though. We had five cars on the field in 2012, all club members, and of course
Paul’s car was absent–hopefully for the last year ever. (me, Roy, Bill, Dale and Wobby, in order)Five is a good turnout but nine or ten would really turn heads, eh Paul?
When was the last time more than five TDrs showed up at an event?edsnova2012-11-18 15:15:22
November 18, 2012 at 9:51 am #252444I’ll have mine there even if she’s not running. Plan on towing her to the motel and driving to the show. And if she’s NOT running I can always tow her into the show grounds. Right?

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackNovember 18, 2012 at 10:22 am #252445Allen, I am sometimes accused of being a pessimist. But, you win the POY award. If she can’t be made to run in 6 months, she ain’t gonna ever run.
November 18, 2012 at 8:48 pm #252446Allen,
If Roy is done beating you up … yes, you may tow your car onto the show field.
Now…get off the computer, get the h–l back into the garage, and get back to work!
How was that Roy? OK? 😀

November 18, 2012 at 10:23 pm #252447Um…planning on driving it. If the weather holds on for another week I should get the body on over the Thanksgiving holiday. Um no. 2….Garage! What Garage. Just a back yard is all I have. That’s why I’m always saying if I don’t get her done. Weather plays an important role. My target completion date is the first weekend in April. I have to unseat my friend Logan who won 1st place in kit car class with his 37 Jaguar SS-100 kit car.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackDecember 27, 2012 at 7:25 pm #252448Hi folks,
Once again, the Speedster Owners Group (SOG) has graciously extended to the
TDReplica.com group access to their hotel. At least for now, they have
asked us to limit our rooms to six. In order to control this, I am not publishing the hotel
arrangement here. Please send me a private message and I will get back to you. Several of us are members of SOG and our rooms will not count towards the six. You SOG guys know who you are. If you are not sure, private message me.The rest of the weekend activities are open to all.
THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SPEEDSTERS MEET SPYDERS WEEKEND AT CARLISLE
??? MAY 16-19, 2013THURSDAY 5/16:
– Early arrivals all day.
– Photo session in the hotel parking lot before the evening cruise.
– Evening country cruise to the
Caddy Shack restaurant for dinner at the Armitage Country Club. This is the
tenth year we???re cruising to the Shack and it???s ALWAYS a fun drive. We???ll enjoy
the same great food and friendly wait staff we???ve become accustomed to. http://www.caddyshackrestaurant.com– Hospitality suite at the host hotel (BYOB and
snacks)
FRIDAY 5/17:– Morning country cruise through the rolling back roads of central
Pennsylvania. Bring your camera; you won???t want to miss all the photo
opportunities! And we just might stop by the Sports Emporium for a few
competitive hot laps on the outdoor go-kart track or the indoor slick track.
This has proven to be a favorite in the past, especially for the ladies who may
need to relieve some stress after listening to the guys bench racing all day
long. http://www.carlislesportsemporium.com/– Then we head to the Carlisle fairgrounds where we???ll register for the
weekend, walk the grounds, check out the swap meet and grab something to
eat.– Join SOG under their club tent, enjoying all the sights and sounds of this event. Many activities are
happening all day long at Carlisle; check their calendar and the program in
your goodie bag for event details of the day.– Photo session in the hotel parking lot before the cruise.
– Evening cruise to the Stoney Creek
Inn. This location is tentative as we work on final details, watch
for an update in the coming weeks.– Then we cruise back to the hotel
for some socializing and partying in the hospitality room (BYOB and snacks).SATURDAY, 5/18:
– Our big day on the show field (aka the ???Fun??? field) at the Carlisle Import
and Kit Nationals. The biggest event of its kind in the country! We’ll park the TDs together if we can, adjacent to the Spedster/Spyder cars.– Morning ???Egg Sandwiches??? reunion at the Carlisle High School Marching Band
food booth (under the grandstands). Ask me about the sandwiches, aka “sammiches”. There are a couple great stories here. This is the only food vendor that is not a business. The cash register and order fulfillment are staffed by band members. The grill is manned by band parents. They work hard to raise money for their band. As the parent of a former high school band member and drum major, I know what it costs! Support these kids. They deserve it!– Join SOG under their club tent, enjoying all the sights and
sounds of this event. Many activities are happening all day long at Carlisle;
check their calendar and the program in your goodie bag for event details of
the day.– When the busy day at Carlisle draws to a close, we???ll head back to the hotel,
freshen up, don our Hawaiian shirts and meet up in the parking lot.
– Final photo session in the hotel
parking lot before cruising to dinner.– Gala 10th anniversary awards dinner at the Radison Hotel
Harrisburg for our annual travel awards festivities. Don???t forget to wear your
Hawaiian shirt!!– Then we???ll head back to the hotel
hospitality room for the ???Speedsters Meet Spyders??? annual raffle of donated
parts, products, goodies, and memorabilia. Followed by more socializing
and revelry (BYOB and snacks).SUNDAY, 5/19:
– Long distance folks begin to leave early, die-hards remain at the show field
until the “Last Hurrah”– Morning ???Egg Sammiches??? at the Carlisle High School Marching Band food booth.
– Activities are happening all day long at Carlisle; check their calendar for

December 28, 2012 at 2:58 pm #252452Yeah. I’m down for Caddy Shack and all. It’s a two hour run from my house, so that means taking Thursday off–both of us. Which is why I say “I hope.”
December 28, 2012 at 8:56 pm #252453I will be out Friday morning. Not sure if Patti will attend. She wants to, but work requirements dictate that it would be a last minute decision. I am so looking forward to seeing you all again.
