Looking for a replacement done light switch for 52 mgtd ( fiberfab) anyone know of a dealer that has parts ??
August 14, 2006 at 2:37 pm #236850If we knew more about the switch, we could answer your question. Is it a door operated plunger? a toggle? a rocker”, built in to the light? Can you post a picture?
Also, I have a stupid question. Where is the “dome” light in your MGTD?
There are no more MGTD kit car manufacturers or “dealers” left. However, you may try MG Magic in Miami, Florida. They have an inventory of MGTD FiberFab and MIGI parts and may have what you need.

Answer to stupid question .. …it has a hard fiberglass top..don’t know who made it, bought the car on the Internet in June, the switch is a push button , it is enclosed in a alumunun block about 1/4 by about 1 X 1 ” and attached to the rear of the door frame, almost have all electrical issues repaired as of today……….love the car, however I am 6’2 and find it a bit tight. Driving this car in the small town I live in is like driving a billbord…many thumbs up.Thank you very much for your reply..Ron…in Salmon< IdahoAugust 16, 2006 at 10:56 am #236852Gee, did not know that I broke the rules by responding via e-mail direct…certainly will not do it again.

Very nice car by the way… I’d like to try and post some pics up on the members gallery if find a little extra time….
August 22, 2006 at 10:25 am #236854There are several aftermarket electrical vendors that have these plunger style switches. It looks like it a standard style screw-in switch that they mounted to the aluminum plate, then screwed the plate to the door jam.
Painless Wiring, Ron Francis Wire Works, American Autowire are a few. I’ll bet yours is available at a local jobber that has a well stocked Motor-Mite or Help! inventory too.
I’m 6’3″+ and 260 lbs. You should see where I sit in my replica!
August 22, 2006 at 1:05 pm #236855Thanks for reply, I have since found a switch that worked with a bit of tweaking. Now another ? looking for the brackets that mount the badges to front 3/4 ” bar…any info on where to locared these ? I live in a very remote area and have to shop for everything on the net…160 Miles to the closest stop light..
August 25, 2006 at 11:54 am #236856There are several places that I bought badge “brackets” for the badge bar. One was Moss Motors (http://www.mossmotors.com) and the other was Triple C (http://www.triple-c.com)
Most kit car badge bars are from Marine applications. They are made from deck rail hardware. So, they are not the standard diameter of the “authentic” MGTD badge bars.
Another thing is to use stainless steel hardware that is readily available from marine Suppliers.
Good Luck.
