    MY TDr currently has the doors taped on and the holes in the body drilled for the hinges. Would you recommend a small metal plate on the inside to take the wear-and-tear of door opening and closing or just leave it as is. BTW…had to cut two holes each side to access the hinge nuts. Carpet will cover tham easily but it sure make access to the nuts a lot easier. 🙂

    Allen,

    Yes. Either that, or a couple large fender washers on the inside of the door and door jam bolts.

    Cutting access holes is standard operating procedure.

    Allen yes ,I put in a aluminum bar in door jam then

    I’ll go with the fender washers it would not hurt to spread the stress out

    I originally cut holes to access the nuts but later found that they could be reached from inside the rear wheelwell.
