    @pmossberg

With lots of members along the eastern seaboard…I hope you and yours are all ok.

I have to admit, it was actually pretty cool here in Jersey City NJ.

My office is on the 20th floor. The building swayed (A LOT) and you could feel this deep deep rumbling for about ten seconds.

No local damage, altho the same is not true areas closer to the Virginia epicenter.

    Hope all is well!

As someone has already posted on Facebook, a  5.8 or 5.9 is what the West Coasters have for breakfast.

Come to calif. we will show how to roll with the Quakes.

I hope you and yours are all ok.Wink

This is what one news reported .

(It was an afternoon rumble that many Californians might have laughed off as the stuff of high-strung East Coasters. But millions of Americans from Georgia to Canada were jolted Tuesday by the most powerful earthquake to hit the region in decades.)Big smileSmile

All OK in Baltimore though I’ll be surprised if at least four buildings didn’t collapse here. But four buildins falling down is not unusual for this town.

I have to admit that I caught it!  I now have one Fiberfab rear engine and a rather unique front engine.  And I still look at the ads and wonder if my marriage would withstand a third (Mid-engine?).  And I recently hit the 5th star, which is a sign of serious and incurable trauma of some kind  But then again, I could have 1492 postings and be named Mossburg, so it could be worse.

    Interesting read MGLR. Thanks!

Most Easterners are oblivious to this stuff!

Of the few true fault lines that does exist in the northeast, one of the major ones is called the 125th Street Fault.

    Why?

Because it runs roughly east-west, underneath 125th street in Manhattan. If that one ever goes, New York City is in deep trouble.

I read today that the Washington Monument has a crack in it near the top.

And there is damage to the National Cathedral.

And this wasn’t a very dramatic post, nor did it have ANYTHING to do with our cars. But it is memorable for me…as it’s post number 1,500!  Maybe I’ll stop now.
