    @newkitman

    Does anyone have a gas tank liner they don’t need and is willing to sell? If so, please PM me. My kit is a CMC/Fiberfab kit.

    Thanks

    Allen,

    What problem are you trying to solve with a liner?

    What kind of gas tank? VW?

    FWIW… I’ve never seen a “liner” for a VW tank. And I’m not coming up with a pretty picture, trying to imagine how one would install it. I have seen POR15 used as a tank sealant, after the tank is properly cleaned.

    Paul. The Gas Tank Liner is shown in the CMC Assembly manual on page 48. It fits into the cutout for the gas tank and then the tank gets installed into the liner and body. The only purpose I can see for this is to prevent any fuel that leaks from the tank from entering the passenger compartment of the car. The body tub on my TDr does not allow the tank liner to fit. Just trying to work out a way for the gas to not leak into the car. I don’t have that liner and I barely have clearance for the fuel line.

    Ah. Got it.

    Sorry. I interpreted “liner” as something to put in the tank.

    Back to your regularly scheduled program. Hope some other CMC owners are able to help.

    No problem. I have a few ideas. Raising the tank about 1/2 inch around the edges and adding some fiberglass to force any leak down into the front area since my battery is under the passenger seat.
