grills I was looking at moss motors & they have a zinc plated grill. I was wondering if it would fit my fiberfab. I know a little work will be needed, but even after the chrome shop the price would be considerably less than one from mgmagic. has anyone tried this?

FiberFab used a reproduction TD grill. So the Moss item will fit.

Mods are necessary and explained in the manual available over there on the left in the download manuals section.

There is a link under FiberFab VW Based Migi II to the Grill installation.

If you own a TDr and are not in the Registry, please go to https://tdreplica.com/forums/topic/mg-td-replica-registry/ and register (you need to copy and paste the link)

You’re looking at grill slats, I think, (PN 454-170) not the outer shell. That’s the hard-to-get item.

Slats in original TDs were originally painted. Hence the zinc plating.

I know looking at the diagram on the Moss page it looks like you’re buying the outer shell (I had to look at it carefully again), but there is a reason that PN 454-757 is “radiator shell” and it’s “unavailable.”

Hence the prevalence of $700 and $800 used rad shells on the ebay, with many bidders.

After my last accident I replaced my Fiberfab grille shell with one from an original TD. It had to be modified for the hood to close. The fenders had gaps around the grille shell.
