July 10, 2009 at 4:16 pm #239192Nice photos! The car looks great, I like the tan top with the red body.
July 10, 2009 at 4:41 pm #239193Hey Mel,
The car looks great!! I can tell you really are enjoying it just by the photos.
By the way, looks like your tail light lenses suffer from the same “fading” problem that mine did. I used some candy apple transparent paint on the inside and now they look like new. Very happy with the results and it’s held up very nicely so far.
Hope you get back to ride soon.

I did the same with my tail lights, I used the transparent red, like for model cars. Works great! Mine had faded to almost clear white.
Mel, your tires look larger than mine. Do you happen to remember the size?
Ok, do we start a new countdown until go back to Florida? Man, it seems like you just got down there after waiting forever. Did you get to change out your wind wings? All your hard work sure looks good
Great job.

Rich, James -Thanks for the tip on the tail lights, it got added to the todo list.
James-My car didn’t have wind wings I added a set I got from MG Magic.
Next Trip is mid-December which is only 5 months away (yuck).
I’m thinking of getting a tonneau top and adding it next trip. What do you guys think?
July 11, 2009 at 3:07 pm #239196I happen to have a tonneau top (Full cover) for sale ….it’s tan and has a
black underside…heavy material canvas…with a zipper to open for the driver
to get in and sit..I had bought it from moss motors several years ago.. Still
in the bag and no holes for the snaps ( you make them where you want
them )i’ll take best offer (over $150)

I LOVE the tonneau cover. I do not have a garage and I do not want to EVER put the top up. So, every night the cover goes on. If I were to design a new one, it would have a flap that would cover the zipper and be held in place by a velcro strip. The cover is water tight except for the zipper area. An alternative would be to can the zipper completely.
Good luck!

The car looks awesome!
The center zip is normal for a tonneau cover, so if only the driver is in the car, you can keep the passenger side covered (and dry if the weather turns bad)
