Hi,
My name is Bill Bastian, I’m brand new here and trying to learn how to use this site. I am presently restoring a FiberFab 1952 MGTD Replica. I wanted to post pictures of the car as it was when I purchased it in Nov. 2013, then later when I have finished it, hopefully next month June 2014. How do I upload pictures, I can’t find any place to upload.I am in Southern California, and would love to hear from any other members in the region.Thank you for any help you can give the “New Guy”.BillBad Bill
May 18, 2014 at 3:30 pm #260404Bill, welcome. This site has a lot of help and we all are willing to give advice. I would recommend spending some time exploring the search function. The icon that looks like a tree is the one that lets you upload pics. When you figure that out, don’t forget to register.
Not to sound trite but, the more questions you ask, the more answers you’ll get.May 18, 2014 at 4:57 pm #260405Bill, for me the tree icon does not work to post my pictures anymore. I’m not sure why?? same goes for these emoticons, I have to right click-copy and then right click-paste on the new page. That’s the only way I can get pictures on here now. Montie.. Oh and welcome to the forum..

"Drive Happy"May 19, 2014 at 3:36 pm #260407Hey Bill
Good to hear from a fellow member in So-Cal. I live in the Huntington Beach area, how about you? I drive a Classic Roadsters LTD. MG TD Grand Duchess (Eliza Jane). She’s a blast to drive and a real attention grabber.I’m Currently replacing the entire wire harness and upgrading some cosmetic components. I hope to be back causing some serious MAHEM on our streets in the near future. I like to think of Eliza Jane as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’s evil sister.Talk with you soon.May 19, 2014 at 9:53 pm #260408OK. Bill.
The process for uploading pics here is a little wonky and, as you’ve seen, it doesn’t seem always to work for everyone. But if you have a full sized or notebook computer running recent Mac or Windows OS, and a Chrome browser, or Safari, or Firefox or Internet Explorer, it should work. You hit the “Post Reply” button at the top left of the thread and then click the tree icon in the little panel above the box. That brings up a box that looks something like this:If you hit the button marked “choose file” you’ll get another window, and this will show stuff that is on your computer, like this:Navigate to the image you want–and it has to be less than 500kb, I think–click on that (or highlight it and press the button marked “open”), then hit the “upload” button on the original box. It will take a few seconds to upload. Then the pic will show up in the right hand pane of the box marked “preview” above (the one with gibberish in it. I don’t know why it defaults to gibberish text when there is no photo to show). If you hit “OK” the photo should now show up in your post, right where your cursor was.If it doesn’t, either the file size was too big or some voodoo is afoot.I hope this helps & sorry if it doesn’t. People on this forum are of various degrees of computer savvy & so more and better help will show up soon if this doesn’t get it.May 20, 2014 at 5:02 pm #260409Hi guy’s I am also new and have just purchased FF Ford pinto based car. Sorry I can’t help you with your project, my kit is VW based. I just wanted to welcome you to the club. Don’t worry, you should have an answer real soon. The members here are real smart and helpful.Good Luck!May 21, 2014 at 3:34 am #260411Install an adjustable panhard rod. With that you can adjust the car side to side. It will also make the car handle a lot better.

"Drive Happy"May 21, 2014 at 2:44 pm #260412Always great to have another Bill join us. You should have plenty of nice weather to enjoy your new ride, although I suspect there will be some days in Southern California — like here in Houston — that look great but have smog levels too high for comfort or health. Still, neither of us has to deal with snow and ice, like so many of our fellow TDr drivers do. Anyway, welcome!

You may have a centered pinion yoke, sometimes ? one axle side is longer than the other. My 8 inch is that way so when it was narrowed I asked for centered pinion resulting in one axle longer than the other.
I’ll post a photo on tommietd later
