I have a MIGI not a MIGI II. Ot came with a wiring harness and a smaller sub harness (dashboard)?. I have the layout but there is no color code to tell me what goes where. Does anyone have a doc with color code? The harness is in good shape do I would like to use it but not knowing the color code might force me to buy a dune buggy harness or a 12 fuse street rod harness. Thanks!

February 17, 2015 at 8:41 pm #263207Have you downloaded the FiberFab build manual from the Downloads page? I think it has a wiring diagram in it?KentT2015-02-17 20:41:50

Slowly coming back from the ashes...February 17, 2015 at 9:30 pm #263208Yeah Kent I looked at that. I have the same diags in the MIGI II build manual that I have. No color code. I have been looking at the wires that I have to see if they are numbered but I do see any. I will continue to study it. I think if I had some idea of the color code it would make more sense.

February 17, 2015 at 9:41 pm #263209If you are a VW Daytona, and are not in a hurry, I could try and reverse engineer the thing by telling you what color codes I have. Let me warn you that a very large number of my (under dash) wires were numbered with small tags that have fallen off.
February 17, 2015 at 9:45 pm #263210Hey everyone
this is a great place to get some advice on auto electric and more. How-to-build-hotrods.com has helped me understand how to safely rewire my car. Im not a skilled at auto electric so if I can do it anyone can. It helped me get rid of a lot of extra wires and make the wire system look better. Im using the less is more approach on my car. The less complicated the system is the more reliable my car is also no hiding places for gremlins.February 17, 2015 at 9:49 pm #263211Yeah Roy, if you can even take a few photos that would be great. It is a MIGI Daytona. You can also PM me with the photos. Thanks!
Thanks Rick I will take a look at that site.

February 17, 2015 at 10:11 pm #263212Also two great places to look for switches and guages are socal speed shop and west marine. They have heavy duty switches that are more expensive than the ones that come with our kits but are worth it. I installed the switches without relays and so far no problems.
Socal speed shop also has some cool acessories like mirrors lights and much more.
Happy shopping!February 19, 2015 at 4:11 pm #263213Part II of the CMC build manual on the downloads page contains a diagram with descriptions of the colors. That might be a starting point to check. Wouldn’t be surprised for the supplied harness to be the same or at least very similar.KentT2015-02-19 16:16:21

Slowly coming back from the ashes...February 19, 2015 at 8:36 pm #263214I built my own wiring using a VW bug color wiring diagram and eliminated all the “stuff” I didn’t need or wasn’t part of the TDr (door switches, interior light, rear window defogger, etc.)I even added a horn relay, radio and 12V power accessory connector (cigarette lighter socket). You could always use the VW color for a guide.

February 20, 2015 at 2:07 pm #263222If I was doing it all over again, I think I would use an early VW steering column (without the key), reomve the VW turn signal lever, and use something like this:

cancel the signal but after finding the signal still flashing a block

and wrapped some foam rubber around it to make it just audible.
