Would be nice to see some photos of the engine and trunk, as well as at least a few with the top up and side curtains installed. I think the paint job, while very nice, is a bit gaudy. And as for the price, well, I guess we all can dream:

1600 cc Type 1 engineFebruary 4, 2014 at 6:39 am #259540Not a bad price $ 31,000 for a replica. I would take $ 29,900 for mine. ??? ???
February 4, 2014 at 6:45 am #259541You’d think at that price the front bumper wouldn’t be so badly askew.

"Drive Happy"February 4, 2014 at 6:54 am #259542That’s got to be close to a record price! Hope he gets it. Sure would raise the bar for ours.
February 4, 2014 at 8:59 am #259543A little math: The ad says that the interior took 500 hours of custom work. 500 hours times $75 (a reasonable price for interior work) is $37,500. Even at only $50 per it’s $25,000 just for the interior. The interior looks really good, but not $25,000 to $37,500 good.
February 4, 2014 at 9:30 am #259544I’d like to see how these two listed features were accomplished on a 66 VW chassis:

I don’t like the dashboard AT ALL — the gauges, oak wood, the padded leading edge, etc., but other than the dash that is the nicest interior I’ve seen yet on a TDr. With 500 hours of labor involved, it should be…KentT2014-02-04 09:38:05

1600 cc Type 1 engineFebruary 4, 2014 at 3:40 pm #259546Frame off build. hmmm. That’s an enthusiastic pitch. With 1 of those hot V4’s. 😆 juneybug2014-02-04 15:44:25
February 4, 2014 at 3:46 pm #259547Is it really powered by the quite rare VW V4 engine?
ALARM SYSTEM?… Wonder how that works.mustang_evets2014-02-04 15:55:07
February 4, 2014 at 3:50 pm #259548I wonder what those bucket seats are from. Snug fit in the cockpit but they seem to work.
February 4, 2014 at 8:24 pm #259549If there is 500 hours in the interior many of them would be modifying or building those seats, I think.
As for the dashboard, I like mine better. But that is as it should be, isn’t it?February 4, 2014 at 9:47 pm #259550nice paint job! 😎
