December 15, 2011 at 6:44 pm #248082Larry thought about you as we passed Reidsville. We were on a schedule..Doing @50mph the triptook 7+hrs from Roanoke to oak island..nc
Larry where is the fuse box on the London Roadster? Also this car has a factory fab chassis. I havent looked for zert fitting ..does yours have them ? will post a few pix ..any one on facebook..?
as you might imagine it was difficult to take a lot of pix considering i had a 350 mile adventure looking me in the face..
Roy The car had been sitting f r years and run only once a year ..so we had the expected issues..i.e the generator brushs need some tweeking.etc which was done
belts,valves, cv joint boots,new exhaust,plugs ,wires, fuel line ,
I got home fine last night ,,,with my two black labs as copilots …
Today she cranked but stumbled and fired for a moment a few times and now wont fire..probbaly the float or the carb..mucho gas blown out the exhaust so i didnt want to set the neighbo hood on fire!
I will post more pix
I appreciate allyour help..

Did you say you brought TWO labs?
Where could you have possibly put them?
December 15, 2011 at 9:00 pm #248086John, The fuse panel is on the left side of the firewall under the dash on the drivers side on my London Roadster. My car has the complete VW pan and suspension so I can’t help you on the grease fitting locations.
I bet it was a tight fit with two labs. Did you have an escort vehicle following or was it a solo trip? An adventure to remember I’m sure.
December 15, 2011 at 9:06 pm #248087Ed..thanks …I questioned my sanity .as I left Roanoke ..it was all good
Sally my small girl is always happy on the passengerside floor of any car and Pudge on the passenger seat ..a good fit..and they kept me warm when the sun set last tnight….I felt like I went back in time 75 years…

Such a nice looking car.

December 16, 2011 at 6:46 pm #248092“I felt like I went back 75 years!” I know exactly what you mean. I went for a nice mood adjusting ride today. Beautiful car. Come up after the new year and we’ll compare notes.
December 16, 2011 at 8:06 pm #248093Roy,
Thanks, will do ..look forward to that
December 16, 2011 at 9:56 pm #248094How did your fill-ups in the London Roadster fair for you? I found my filler tube to be too short and it overflows every time I fill up. The pump also fails to auto shut off and I have to barely squeeze the handle to just leak fuel into the tank. That’s the worst part about this fun vehicle. Every time I gas up, there is gas running down my running boards.
December 16, 2011 at 10:18 pm #248095Mark, I had exactly same issue….and found out not to leave the seat
belt buckle lying on the running board…while fueling up ! the gas
milage was @33mpg for the section along US220 which was small
towns and city traffic.
Is your chassis a custom or V W PAN?
The ol roadster got the girls and I home safely. I just won’t fill up all
the way once I get the feel for the bouncie gauge ….
December 17, 2011 at 10:01 am #24809633 mpg! You are doing something right.
I’m getting about 25. Gotta be rich as hell.
December 17, 2011 at 10:02 am #24809725 is what I get also.
December 17, 2011 at 10:23 am #248098Good morning .! Can anyone explain to me how to get my cars picture on my Avatar ..I dont understand the instructions …
thanks so much
john
December 17, 2011 at 10:58 am #248099First, the avatar image must be small, no larger than 64 x 64 pixels
You need to store in in an on line photo place, like flickr, shutterfly etc.
Within the on-line storage, you will be able to copy the url for the avatar.
Here in the forum, go to Settings, then Edit Profile.
Scroll down to the Avatar and paste the URL into the field next to the preview button.
You are also supposed to be able to upload the image using the upload avatar link in Edit Profile. I am not sure if that is working.

December 18, 2011 at 12:19 am #248102British Racing Green with a tan interior. Classic colors.
Did it feel down on power when you arrived home? Check the points. I’ll bet that they closed on the ride home.
Pretty TC.
December 18, 2011 at 12:32 am #248103Thanks TC. will do
Actually I think th e float may have stuck in the carburetor..The TD was running very rough the next day … ..The power seemed ok but after 8 hours on the road I was kinda numb to anything !..
