Beautiful car! You should be proud — I certainly would be!

Slowly coming back from the ashes...March 31, 2013 at 9:08 pm #247538Awesome job, Rocky! ANd 18 months is not bad a t all. One of the Speedster guys has been on his build more than 18 years.
March 31, 2013 at 9:12 pm #247539Congratulations Rocky!
Now it’s drivin’ time!
I think I’ll pull out my build pictures (from 1982!) and post them here over the next nine months! Like reliving the build!

April 1, 2013 at 7:30 am #247540Paul that’s be cool if you did post those pics. Some of us (mainly me) might learn something from them.

But when I get around to it, I’ll start scanning. Remember, 1982 pics are way before digital.Paul Mossberg

April 1, 2013 at 1:06 pm #247542The only digital stuff (per say) back in 1982 was with the TRS-80 computer. Okay…maybe the Comoder 64!

April 1, 2013 at 5:50 pm #247547AHH does that mean our attition span isn’t to great? I thought nine pages was great.
April 4, 2013 at 6:07 pm #247548Rockyx, I also like the looks of your painted wheels. I am thinking of painting mine as well and was looking for the silver/chrome paint you used a Walmart, but couldn’t find anything that met that description. I did fine a rustoleum High Tech wheel paint in the automotive section that is recommended for both plastic and steel. Is that what you used? Thanks.

Take a look at mid merica motorworks. They sell Argent Silver which is as close as you can get to he stock silver.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackApril 4, 2013 at 7:26 pm #247550Walmart likely doesn’t carry it, but I bought Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Paint in Silver at O’Reilly’s and was quite pleased with the outcome. Supposedly it’s “extra-tough” to ward off chipping and scratching…
It has tiny metallic particles in it that leaves the wheels with a nice sheen and bit of sparkle in the right light. Two cans did front and back of four wheels in pretty sad shape — leaving about half a can for other touch-up purposes….KentT2013-04-04 19:27:26
