Thinking of redoing my interior.  What do you think about using memory foam as the seat cushion.  I was thinking of buying some memory foam pillows and cutting them up.

I have Tempur-Pedic mattress. Highly recommended to sleep on. And other things.

But I think the way the memory foam works would make it too soft for a car seat. My mattress is a “firm” Tempur-Pedic. But when you sit down on it, you sink pretty far down.

My recommendation for a car seat…use a much denser foam for the seat cushions,  then perhaps an inch or two of memory foam on top of the firm cushion.

    Rob,

I have a fix that I did on my car seats w/ pictures somewhere on the site – In

my opinion it is way better then just changing out the foam – take a look and

let me know if you have any questions. No more DBS ( Dead Butt Syndrome )

Just my 2 cents.  After I saw what schu did I decided to give it a try. It worked out great.  Try it, you wont regret it.  If it doesn’t work out for you, you can still add new foam. You shouldn’t have to cut out new seats.

I re-did mine earlier this year, I was going to do the same a schu, but with my custom bases and the storage under I opted for new foam.  I went to a local shop and got some 5″ very dense foam.  Took care of the TB syndrom.  Before about an hr drive was all these old tired buns could handle, now pretty much no TBS.  Now if I could just get a little more leg room.   I think there is a post somewhere about it.  Just another option.

I’m looking at purchasing the really dense foam used in golf carts and

cover that with an inch of softer foam.

I’ll give schu’s seat fix a try looks like a good approach.
