Well I guess my pic’s are to big to post – I will try to make them smaller when
I do the second seat unless anyone knows how to fix.

January 18, 2011 at 8:03 pm #242310I measured from the base of the seat cushion frame on my 74 Ghia (don’t know if the bug seats are that much different) and the height with the sisal pad, foam and upholstery is 7 inches at the front. Didn’t measure the rear of the seat cushion. If someone will measure the height of their TD cushion from the wood to the top at the front and back and post it that’ll help.

should be able to make your photo smaller by opening the picture in your photo
program and resaving it smaller, either by choosing a lower quality
jpeg format, resizing it by pixels (I like 300 by 400) or cropping it
and saving the cropped part under a new name.January 18, 2011 at 9:07 pm #242312Ed’s approach will work if you want to crop the picture.
But it you don’t need to crop it, you want to “compress” the file.
This is my preferred approach. My example uses Microsoft Office Picture ManagerClick Edit
Click Compress Pictures
Select Documents and click ok. This compresses the image to a size that is quite usable to email or to post here

January 26, 2011 at 8:34 pm #242313Well I tried – not working – so if anyone needs a picture if you are planning a
seat fix let me know and I can email you some pic’s.

November 8, 2012 at 1:58 pm #242314Sam’s Club and such places sell 2 1/2 ” memory foam pads to put over regular mattresses. A twin would probably do two sets of seats and might be a good replacement for the old low-density stuff that came in the kits.
We did a two hour jaunt out to Nevada and my better half complained of a sore back.I’m sure that our collective barin power will come up with a good solution.November 8, 2012 at 2:30 pm #242315I’m planning on using the seat springs and foam used in a recliner and the stiffer foam used in golf carts.

November 8, 2012 at 5:15 pm #242317I have pictures posted here some place of my seat fix – worked great and still going strong – one of the best fixes I ever did for my car.
November 8, 2012 at 5:44 pm #242318Schu…Is your number in the TD Forum Gallery 65? (I think it is). Nice photos of the webbing you made. And all the other work you did.

September 17, 2013 at 3:20 pm #242320Reading through this I feel kinda lucky to have a nice set of seat springs (bucket bottoms with bench back) that I can get upholstered and put in my MG eventually. 😀
