April 7, 2014 at 1:02 pm #260091Good looking car!

April 7, 2014 at 2:59 pm #260092Next project is waiting in the wings …….. hope to use MGB power this time. Thanks for the comments!

April 7, 2014 at 8:17 pm #260093Wait–that’s not MGB power in this one? What is that–Midget?
Anyway, very impressed.April 8, 2014 at 8:14 am #260094Engine , tranny & rear end are from 1971 MG Midget. Just had to build a frame. Midget engine is plenty to tool around the back roads here in central NC.
MGB would be closer to the real TD engine. Learned a lot from this build ……. next one should be a lot quicker. By the way, I sold this car to a couple as a birthday present!
Thanks for the kind words!

April 11, 2014 at 9:38 pm #260099Looks awesome. You gonna put a spare tire on it too?
April 11, 2014 at 10:55 pm #260100Beautiful dash, Jim. Did you finish it yourself? And what about door handles?

April 13, 2014 at 8:49 am #260102Dash came with kit …….. this was an older (30) years ago kit …… “We don’t need no stinking door habdles on the out side” MGA’s didn’t have them ….. so I elected not to put then on. Keeps it looking smooth on the out side.
May 2, 2014 at 4:26 pm #260103AnonymousInactiveHello, love the mg running gear. Is the body for vw kit? Midgets a Bs are unubody, what did it take to build a frame? Thanks, Dennis PS I have enough B parts to litteraly build 2 cars. Need input on frame and what kit was used.
May 2, 2014 at 4:27 pm #260104AnonymousInactivePPS… unibody!
May 2, 2014 at 4:51 pm #260105Schweet ride! Must have been a fun project, cant wait to see your next one.
May 12, 2014 at 9:29 pm #260106Just used some 2″ x 3″ box tubing to build frame. Just looked at how original was built. You will have to extend a MG Midget 14″ to work on the TD body. mGB will have to extend 9″ to work. I have a TR6 in the shop now, so it will be a while on the nextTD!
May 12, 2014 at 9:55 pm #260107Have you got a B to work with yet? I just came across one last week for $1000.00. Rebuilt motor runs and could be a daily driver. Lots body rust in the rockers and, well everywhere. It’s not advertised yet but I have the guys phone #,
May 13, 2014 at 8:53 pm #260108Thanks for the offer, I already have a71 MGB to work from. I have friends that might be interested . I am in central NC, where is the car?

May 15, 2014 at 8:11 am #260110A bit far to go for a MGB …… here in the south , there seems to still be plenty around …… with “not so much rust”.
Thanks,
