Someone here was talking about building a “Cobra killer” with one of the front engine kits. How’s 450 hp in an original ’52 sound, boys?

My fave on this: he drilled out the Chevy wheels in back to look like the original 15-hole TD wheels. Now THERE’s some attention to detail!
I think “Big Daddy” would smile at this one.
December 14, 2009 at 12:35 am #240238I’m sure you all figured this out…but just in case, here is the corrected link

December 14, 2009 at 12:40 am #240239Sweet ride.
But as is, the car reminds me of those Ed Roth “car-icatures” from the late sixties/early seventies. I think I would have gone a little less severe on the rear tires.
There is an original ’52 TD street rod running around northern NJ. Yello body, black top and interior. No sides on the engine compartment. And it’s been a few year since I have seen it, but I think it’s fenderless as well.

December 14, 2009 at 9:48 am #240240Yeah. Like he should have the shifter sticking up to about the height of the windshield! And put an 8-71 blower on it and a set of Hillborns. Really run the ball to the End Zone!
Even as it sits I’d be afraid to drive it. I had maybe 300 hp in my 2900-lb Nova and that thing was scary enough. 450 hp in 2300 pounds, and with basically no bumpers and a javelin for a steering column. . . maybe a little too rich for my taste.
Still, makes me say, ‘that guy is COOL!’
December 14, 2009 at 9:50 am #240241That is really cool! I don’t think you could slide a piece of paper in that engine compartment though. I bet that is a fun car to drive (in a straight line).
December 14, 2009 at 10:11 am #240242I would not want to try to drive this thing around a corner…but I’ll bet it’s fast in a straight line!
I’ve seen that yellow V8 TD at a cruise night in central NJ a few years ago. It too was a “straight line” car.
December 14, 2009 at 1:29 pm #240243Hey Mark,
Did the NJ guy trailer the car?
Because I saw it at a car show up at the BMW offices in northern NJ. And he might have been at Memorial Day Madness at the M&Ms plant one year too.
Gets around!

December 14, 2009 at 1:32 pm #240244I’ll take my 85 hp Duchess and the ability to cruise around all day without killing myself!
There’s something to be said for driving without white-knuckles!

December 14, 2009 at 3:27 pm #240246Sure Greg. Driving gloves will tame that 450 hp street rod TD!
