As i,m sitting here watching the snow come down in western NY wishing it was 70 degrees instead of 20 degrees i started to think about last year driving my LR. One day comes to mind It was 80 degress sunny no wind.I put the top down and went to a near by city cruised around the parks an stopped at a Big Lots Dept store to get car polishing clothes. When i came out of the store a man and women were looking a my car. They said is this yours, yes i replied. What is it. So i started answering there questions. It wasn,t long more people showed up and then more. Every one had questions.A friend with a t bucket showed up and a 48 Plymouth along with some Harly,s.We seemed to have our own little cruise in. The T bucket the plymouth and the LR went to lunch.Maybe some of you have had good days like this. THINK SPRING

February 20, 2013 at 7:36 pm #254573My best day ,Anyday I can drive it.
February 20, 2013 at 8:17 pm #254574It was an April Sunday, two years ago. I drove my BCW 52 TD to a EuroSunday cruise in that caters to European cars, Ferraris, Aston Martins, exotic stuff. The organizer directed me to a spot next to a black Enzo Ferrari. I protested, but she insisted. I parked as far from the Enzo as I could and went over to talk to the owner – a clueless doc with a big checkbook. All the guys clustered around admiring the machine while their wives, girl friends, S.O.s clustered around the MG. Then a professional photographer with a gorgeous model in a very short mini skirt headed for my MG for photos. Talk about a shift in attention! I told the photog that the model could sit in the car – love those suicide doors with a long bare leg extended. Needless to say, the Enzo was all but forgotten. Did I mention it was a very short mini skirt? It was a great day!

Actually………I was thinking of the shot you mentioned with the door open with the gals leg hanging out the door. That sounds like a classic photo.Allen Caron

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackFebruary 21, 2013 at 1:51 pm #254579Thinking the great pic there would be one with the women all clustered around the TD and the dudes around the Enzo. That has always been my experience too (though not as pointedly as DickH’s). A few months ago a bevy of school girls swarmed off the corner and literally jumped into my car when I was stopped at a light in Baltimore.
February 21, 2013 at 2:45 pm #254580You guys are lucky. I have NEVER had a bevy of beauties come anywhere near me or any car I’ve owned. (drat) newkitman2013-02-21 15:19:44

February 21, 2013 at 10:15 pm #254582One other thing i would like to mention.I’m sure everyone will love.In 1971 i bought a 1971 Pinto 4 on the floor.I thought i was real cool.My buddy and i stopped at a red light and while we were there 2 TOS sorrity girls came running to the car asked if they could have a ride.We bought some booze and had a good time. This was the same car i owned when i met my wife. She had just bought a red one. I owned a yellow one.We exchaned gas caps.People would say do you know a cute brunette is driving around here in a red pinto with a yellow gas cap.You should hunt her down.
February 24, 2013 at 4:22 pm #254583The photographer took my card and said he would send a photo, but he never did. I just hope my MG does NOT show up,on some adult web page.
March 3, 2013 at 5:19 am #254584Hard to pick my best day, they are all great. One of the most memorable was we entered a Orphan Car show (cars no longer made). The featured brand was British cars. There was some really nice Triumph’s & MG’s even a red Jag with everything under the hood chromed (at some point he should have stopped) too much for my taste. We didn’t think we had a chance of a prize, normally there’s not even a class for us. Ended up with best of show with our “Triple Orphan”, Pinto, MGTD & CMC.
