    I know this has been discussed, at length on the Yahoo Group, but I thought I’d bring it up again.

      I’m looking at replacing the tires on my VW based TD. It’s on a 71 chassis with 4 lug rims.  My question it, What is a good size tire (radial) to run as a replacement for the byes ply metric?

      Any recommended brands?

    Hi Frank,

    165 R 15 is the correct size.

    If it’s a steel belted radial, you will see 165 SR 15.
