    Yet another question.  Bought a new turn signal switch, and of course the lever needs to be bent.  It appears to be “pot metal” to me, how do you bend it without breaking?  Does heat work?

    (My steering wheel is flat, no “dish” at all)

    Yes, heat worked on an original VW turn signal lever.

    Just heat it up slowly, while putting some presure on the lever. You’ll feel when it is getting warm enough to bend. I did the straightening first, then cut it to the right length.

    Heat worked.  Did a number on the anodizing, of course.  Paint time!

    And yeah, the torch doesn’t do much for the finish!
