I just got a UK license plate custom made and it came out great. Price was $40.50 plus shipping. They can put whatever you want on the plate.
I am real pleased with the plate I got and plan on putting it below the front bumper on a couple of pieces of angle iron weld to the bumper.

The photo in your gallery looks like you have an authentic TD bumper. Before you plan on welding, take a look under your bumper between the guards and you should see 2 holes close to the guards. These were original mounting holes and you can make a bracket with some sheet steel (or order the replacement bracket from Moss that’s made of unobtainium $$$$$$!!!). That would give the plate some support and allow mounting without any damage to the bumper.
I’ve recently added a front plate and can send some pics if you have any questions.

Any pictures would be helpful, since the car and I are currently 1300mi apart I have to wait until June to check the bumper. The UK plate did come with a plastic holder that has universal holes for mounting.
Thanks

…..unobtainium $$$$$$!!…. A new term for my dictionary, I love it, had to catch my breath from laughing.
I hope Mel’s bumper is stronger than my bumper. Day one, my car rolls ever so gently against my carport center post, with a light tap, the bumper vee’d dead center. I removed the bumper and took a section of a tree branch with the same curve and pounded it back into shape from the backside with a hammer hitting the branch section only a couple of times. Bends too easy.

April 15, 2009 at 6:11 pm #238660I’m away from home, but when I return will photograph the front license bracket on my Duchess. It’s basically a piece of flat steel welded to a steel tube that fits between the front bumper springs. A threaded rod runs through the bumper springs and the tube and is held on with two acorn nuts.
Very easy and cheap to fabricate.
