Every time I think I’ll be getting after Bridget’s winter to-do list something intervenes. Now it’s the wife’s old car.
We got her a new one last winter, but held off on selling this 2005 Corolla because, first I needed it because I’d wrecked my truck. Then Karen’s mom was thinking about giving up her Prius to save money so we thought we’d give it to her. Then some other fool thing happened which I can’t remember but finally I listed it for sale last month and got no interest at $3,200.
So I re-listed at $2800 last week and got five calls, all of whom were gonna come yesterday to see it.
Only one did.
And he didn’t think the car would pass state inspection with the rust in the rear wheel well, so he passed.
Ed, sorry to hear about your misfortunes. It never seems to rain, only flood. Know it sounds trite, but keep on keepin’ on. We’re always here to be your sounding board. Hope you get some calls about the car.
Progress on the Toyota, for any interested. I think this will be a much better fix than the typical DIY guy might make (with fiberglass mesh and Bondo). It’s all metal, held together with two full packages of JB Weld at 3960 PSI along a good bit of surface area.
I actually had fun shaping the remnants of my wrecked Nissan’s front fender to replace the dog-leg quarter panel of my wife’s Toyota.
