I had mine made at a local marine upholstery shop. At the time they did both the convertible top and the tonnaeu cover. The cost for both was about $850 about 20 years ago.

Guess I am committed. Bought my show field pass. Now I just need to get the car fixed after accident. Found a Corvette shop that is willing to fabricate the damaged center front piece behind bumper.

I recently post about an accident I had. End result is I need a new radiator grill shell. Does anyone have a source for one? Are they the same as the original TD grill shells? Can they be repaired and re-chromed?
Also need the fiberglass assembly that sits below the grill shell and between the fenders.
TIA

DaleDoing well. Hagerty seems to have taken responsibility in tracking down parts, figured it was going to default to me.

I had previously posted about a minor accident I had with my MGTDR. I was driving down one of our local streets when the steering wheel no longer steered the front wheels and I wound up hitting a traffic signal pole. Luckily I was not traveling at speed and was not hurt, but if it had happened driving on the highway results would have been much…[Read more]

I am glad you are OK – That could have been very bad- I saw your post on my phone a couple of days ago and it prompted me to check mine – thanks for that. I was just looking for your post to make a comment and see how you are doing but can’t find it anyplace as it seems to have disappeared for some reason. Let us know how you are doing.

Glad to hear – after checking mine I noticed I have the rubber donut but I bolted the steering drive directly instead of cross bolted so the donut does nothing. Seems to be working so leaving as is – all is lined up so no need for the flex I guess.

Does anyone know of a source for a grill shell and slat for a Fiberfab MiGi? Also has anyone had any experience with repairs to a bent grill shell?
TIA

Had a minor accident this afternoon, no injuries but damage to front of car. I was driving on a local street when the steering wheel became unresponsive, turning the wheel would no longer steer the car. On inspection determined the coupling disk between the steering gear box and steering column had failed. Known damage is to bumper, fiberglass…[Read more]

My TDR is built on a 1972 VW and needed to meet requirements for same. I live in Illinois in a area subject to emission testing. For years I would have to detune it, take it in to have my tail pipe sniffed, go home and retune for driving. With the advent of computerized controls, they now just connect to the under dash connector to verify ev…[Read more]

Thanks for all you work in keeping this even going. I will have to miss this year. My sister and I are walking the Camino de Santiago from Porto, Portugal to Santiago, Spain in May 2019, about 160 miles.
I have flat towed from Chicago several times with no issues. Have towed with tonneau cover on each time and have not experienced any we…[Read more]

I was faced with a similar issue but I didn’t attempt to color match gel coat since I had a fairly significant damage to fender. Painted fender with color match to existing car, fender looked great but there was a significant difference in appearance between painted fender and gel coat car. Eventually wound up painting entire car, epoxy paint w…[Read more]

There hasn’t been much discussion of Carlisle 2018. Bought my tickets back in December. Is the Speedster Owners Group blocking rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott, 4921 Gettysburg Road, Mechanicsburg PA?
